I don’t know how Kirby Smart does it, but he always gets a big time TE recruit despite not using them. Isaac Nauta, Luke Ford, Darnell Washington, Brock Bowers etc

I told OSU fans first and then Georgia fans, Mathis would be terrible. I was shocked he won the Georgia job to begin with. Guy was a disaster in HS against any team who could get any pressure on him.

He didn’t win the job. Daniels wasn’t cleared to play in week one and Newman opted out like 3 weeks before the decision, Kirby panicked and picked Mathis. Bennett sucked too, but was better than Mathis.

Don’t know how he was ever a 4 star

There were a lot of questions about Mathis. He was far from a "sure" thing to even be a decent P5 QB. Wasnt really too sad to see him go. Especially trading him out for Fields.

He went back home to Illinois when his grandparents were sick and had his waiver denied for reasons. Seemed like a good kid. Hope he does well

Tyrique Stevenson is transferring from Georgia, likely to one of the Florida schools. Probably Miami, they were a close second in his recruitment.

Sucks. Our secondary next year is gonna be talented, but raw and not very deep.
