2020-2021 Transfer portal news

Wrote this on Nebraska board but losing McCaffrey sucks, not because of QB position (which is doesn’t have a good enough arm for that), but because he is a good athlete that could be good in a running back/wide receiver role and cause matchup problems. The other two aren’t any loss, Warner couldn’t catch a cold and Farniok was getting passed up my other players

I'm assuming he wants to play QB. That would explain the transfer right now.

Like the kid a lot as an athlete but I don't think he's a QB anywhere. He's looked abysmal throwing the ball when given the chance.

Hard to see any P5 team taking him as a QB, probably ends up on some like CUSA or MWC team.

Yea, that’s what I’m assuming what the case is. He’s a really good athlete but not a QB, will be interesting to see where he ends up. Gotta be able to throw it over 10-15 yards and he really can’t

No idea how got that. Maybe a good leader but He wasn’t a good receiver. Pretty sure dropped more passes than caught last year
he may have had a rough season but seeing a Captain hit the portal is something else too, right?

He probably saw the writing on the wall and knew wouldn’t be playing. I wouldn’t read that much into it.

I think the Frost experiment is nearing the end. Theyve given him 3 years already and that's amounted to a 12-20 overall record (9-17 in B1G play) you can't say he hasent had time and you really didnt see any improvement between year 2 and 3. They gotta move on if he doesn't get it done this year.

They aren't going to fire the savior

Its still hilarious they fired Pelini after he won at least 9 games every year. The AD gave this reasoning

Eichorst stated at a press conference that Pelini hadn't won "the games that mattered the most" against top-tier opponents despite having significant resources at his disposal.

I'm sure theyd kill for a 9 win season about now.

This is what I've been thinking also.
However, I have to stop myself and remember it's 2020 the year of Covid.
Nothing is right. I'd wait and see what next year looks like.

I mean, who would they hire next????
He would be a dead man walking from day 1, I think.

Nebraskas recruiting class rankings in the 247 composite

2017 - #23
2018 - #23
2019 - $17
2020 - #20

They arent on a "elite" recruiting level by any means but its not like theyve been terrible at it either. They really have no excuse for being under .500.

Frosts "best" wins are over 7-6 Michigan State and Minnesota teams in his first season. Hes struggled against everyone not just the better teams in the conference.

yeah, those classes are cool and all but where's the real stat? You know..the amount of money they get now for being in the BIG... especially since they now get the full share.. future is bright

He hasn't had time ... they will give him 5 years. I don't think it will matter ... NE problems are far more systemic than any coach can change. But, as @Thiefery said, he's one of the heroes of their program and they will not discard him lightly.
