Mid-December through January 1 used to the the ultimate for college football lovers. Now, with the opt out (quitting/show of selfishness) craze that was started by the scumbag Stanford player, much of bowl season is ruined because you don't truly get to see which teams are better.

Need a severe penalty clause in NIL contracts if they opt out.
 
Unless its the CFP, who cares if they opt out.

It's an exhibition game and always has been.
It has become a chance to see what your team will look like next season.

Basically. Extra practices for the kids returning. Wonder if that will change though with the 12 team format? More important bowls?

Okay folks, I have had this thought. Help me out here. I have seen this happen over the last few seasons. These players sit out of bowl games because it is not the CFP bowls or whatever.

Could part of the NIL deal be that you have to play in whatever bowl your team goes to to get your full NIL deal? So, awesome QB Joe Longbombs has an NIL deal with a clothing brand. The clothing brand says if you don't play in the bowl game for your team (that is 8-4) even if it is the Quicken Loans Bowl on December 27th, you only get 60% of your NIL deal. I am new and dumb to the "whole" NIL thing, so if this is a stupid question/scenario, sorry about that. But, could this be part of an NIL deal?

I'm with you, I don't understand al the intricacies, but this is a great question. Not sure that a brand could dictate whether or not a player plays
 
If they choose to sit out, are they allowed to attend the bowl game?
