I really hope we have turned a corner with using the portal and if we see a guy who can help us going forward, we go get them.

All 4 guys we picked up could be starters next year or at the very least -- give us depth we wouldn't have if we lose the guys I'm expecting to, to the NFL draft.

😂 😂 You mean it's not a good idea for the kid to move up in competetition?
Meh, sarcasm over being salty that Coastal Carolina probably will not being as much fun next year now.

Still baffles me how wild wild west this has become. If it's NIL jumping then IMO they need to start putting clauses around when you get the money. This torpedoes recurting and team locker rooms in a lot of ways. But... here we are..

Clauses?? No.. Let the schools that offer money take the loss if they don't panned out

Well by that logic Texas will be back.. by 2042.. maybe... I'm all for an open market but in many jobs leaving a place does have clauses around what you can and can't do. If the intent is to benefit monetarily from NIL from leaving Bama to Tennessee then IMO Bama/3rd party shold have something in to protect their investment. This is just one fraction of possible issues just throwing money at kids, wait until one gets into some major legal issues. Should UT still pay on 1m for a recruit who say sexualy assaulted someone?

IMO, these kids need some kind of responsibility for the commitment they make.

Protect their Investments? No.. They better identify players who aren't mercenaries.. They protect themselves if they hire the wrong coach? Getting mad at kids for taking the money then bouncing.. You know those aggy kids.. They jumped on board despite no DC at the time.. Maybe jimbo said trust me.. And they lost it..

Not sure what this has with Texas, but since you brought this up.. Worthy was going to portal to SC a year ago.. Texas then pitches him on more NIL, which he got (corvette, sonic, fortnite). I would say that is protecting your investment, no?

Other than that.. Let programs take the gamble.. Players did it all the time for the past 50 plus years
