2022 Official Transfer Portal Thread

I think that is right. But on a case by case they may. I think there is also a difference between entering it and saying you are going to enter in on twitter.

OFFICIALLY in the portal is what I mean. Lol. Once you actually put your name in, your former school is under no obligation to take you back.

I guess “greyshirting” is officially dead, eh?

Spencer Sanders to…Auburn?

Who writes these bullshit statements? Half these guys can't even spell and yet every one of them looks like something Socrates would say.
Dey can all afford social media managers wif dere NIL monies.

But if Rice's boosters who own a local Mickey D gave him the cash to buy it...
If Rice had real boosters.. they would be at the finest of steakhouses.. that school churns in wealthy Alumni

With the Alabama types it's likely players lower on the depth chart getting "suggested" they should take themselves elsewhere to make room for higher rated recruits they want to bring in.

Even if it's backups though. In A&Ms case losing over 20 players still hurts, you take a big whack in the depth department. I guess thats the age we live in though, anyone not in the 2 deep (and even then) is liable to move on after 1 or 2 years. Big time P5 schools no longer will develop players. They'll just snatch players from a lower school after they develop there.
Bama has lot a couple STARTING OL.. and a WR who they were depending on coming off an injury. They aren't losing guys buried on the depth chart only.
A&M hasn't lost anyone really of consequence yet, just a lot of people blocked by the big class of last season.
Also, these are people who have entered or announced they are entering isn't it? Not people that actually left yet?
see this is where we differ. how can you say they aren't of consequence.. Harris was a top 30 national recruit who was considered the top CB in the state of Texas. You have Chris Marshall who also was considered top 3 WR in the state of TX a season ago (who also was a composite 5 star). PJ Williams a high 4 star/bluechip OT.. LJ Johnson who was the backup to Achane before he left the team in the season.. would have been a valuable backup..

Realistically, OL are supposed to at least get a full season to acclimate and learn before they hit the field.. Losing PJ is losing someone who at the very least could be quality depth (most likely starter judging how that OL played this past season)

Same for Marshall and Harris (who was getting majority snaps as a starter before getting suspended)

You can say they were cancers or malcontents, but that's just another red flag on Jimbo.. These losses are significant

Lol apparently Michigan's doctors "cleared" McNamara to play even though his knee was clearly fucked up

“I completely messed it up, I tore my MCL,” McNamara said. “I didn’t know this until my MCL was messed up, but I tore my patellar halfway through the season last year, actually against Michigan State. That’s a whole story in itself.”

In a confounding story, McNamara alleges that Michigan’s medical staff cleared him to play again this year, despite tearing his MCL. He later sought a second opinion from Dr. Neal ElAttrache, an orthopedic surgeon and head team physician for the NFL’s Los Angeles Rams and MLB’s Los Angeles Dodgers, who “was astonished,” McNamara says.

“My knee was completely open still, and (he) was determining whether to have a repaired MCL or get a cadaver and full reconstruction,” McNamara said.

That’s when McNamara, who remained on the Michigan sideline until early November, decided to hang it up for the season. He went out to southern California to have the procedure, later posting a photo of himself in a wheelchair, and has been out there ever since rehabbing.
