Barring a complete collapse in the last three games, I feel pretty confident (finally) about making the tournament. Go 2-1 the rest of the way and I'll have no problem sleeping.
Yeah, earlier in this thread I'd stated Nebraska just needed to get to 20 wins overall and .500 in conference to get to the dance. It sounded good at the time, but is no longer the case.
It's more about a top 5 regular season finish now and being above .500
Top 6 isn't a guarantee unless your name is Izzo.
With #13 Ohio St's recent wins over Purdue (in Columbus) and @ Sparty, they're now considered a Quad 1 (road) opponent.
The Huskers obviously aren't gonna catch #1 Purdue, but Purdue can do Nebraska a lot of favors in beating #2 Illinois, #4 Wisconsin, and #6 Sparty.
I saw on the twitter dot com that the Huskers are guaranteed to finish no worse than 10th in the conference and could finish as high as 2nd.
Winning out would be nice. But I'd trade a loss or two for a couple post season wins. That's probably true if you look at extreme scenarios.
i.e. Nebraska losing all three remaining games, or winning all three.
