Phillies did it in the NLDS, NLCS, and WS last year. Back in 08 they did the same. 2009 they started at home in the NLDS (actually did the same there i guess) but then did the same in the NLCS and WS. 2010 and 2011 were all home series and went differently.

A: Expand the Division Series to 7 games
B: Go back to 1 game WC
C: Expand to 8 teams that way everyone plays the WC round.

Both AL teams did last year. I don't know if it's just a fluke or something more. I'd be OK not giving a planned travel day for the wild card round winner (day off if they sweep but no day off if it goes three) and/or going to a seven game series. The idea of going back to that one game deal seems terrible to me even though they were all sweeps this year.

Dodgers pitching staff wasn't going to beat anybody in the postseason. They had an injured Kershaw, an overworked stud rookie, and.... nothing else.

Dbacks had a clear advantage in the 1-2 in the rotation and then Lance Lynn happened.

Braves are 1-12 in the first game of the playoffs since 2002. They’re 11-1 in second game(was no second game in 2012). Only win doesn’t really count since it was 2020, only loss was 2018

I did like I did in game one and bet Phillie Moneyline so I at least get paid if the Braves lose. If there is a game 5(far from a guarantee, Phillies lineup is red hot), I’ll do the same

LOL, as usual, the Dodgers don't have the testicular fortitude for the playoffs in a real season.
 
The homer fan in me loves this. The Rangers are in the ALCS. The Dodgers have been swept out of the playoffs. SWEPT!

Still, it's obvious to the logical fan that this system is badly flawed.

And, I think it was fordman that mentioned the Astros were able to deal with the layoff. Yes, but that just makes them the exception and not the rule.

Even with the Astros winning their series, the combined record of the bye teams is 4-9 in the DS.

That means the other three teams went 1-8 in the DS, Could be 1-9 if the Braves lose tonight.

1-8 is the rule.

The week off is killing these teams. You can't look at that 1-8 record and say it isn't.

Still, after saying that.....

Fuck the Dodgers! I'm still happy as a possum eating shit that their asses got swept!

Braves also appeared to take the last 2 weeks of the season off. They never had a chance to get going again.
