2023 NFL fired coaches

I would give Dan Campbell coach of the year for the turnaround he did with the Lions the second half. I thought they were going to be at the bottom after a couple of games and they ended up with a winning record.
I wouldn't be upset with that. But I think it is Daboll or Shanahan that should get it.
Daboll was written off as NYG were going to be dead last in the NFCE and had a massive QB problem on its hands. They played most of the season with a WR1 that would be lucky to be a WR3 on most other teams.
Shanahan is more a product of solid FO moves, and some luck, but when your day 1 starter plays in 2 games and then his backup goes 10.5 and you have to hand it over to a rookie who was literally passed over by every team at least 6 times...impressive. Getting CMAC helps anyone look better, but I'm impressed that SF weathered the storm like they did. Most teams would fold shop if the #3 QB had to step in for 5 games. It's like Dak taking over all over again.

I've got a soft spot for Detroit this year. They were the HBO Hard Knocks team and you tend to get vested in the players and team when you go through pre-season with them like that. My wife still likes some of the Dallas players because of the show a year ago.

Campbell is an Aggie and Cowboy, so I hope he gets it.

But I just have a sinking feeling that neckbeard pencil-in-visor-with-laminated-playsheet jabroni in Philly is going to win it.

Campbell won't get it but he would be my vote.

I don't think Bowles will be fired this season, no matter what happens in the playoff game.

Also don't see Tampa losing to Dallas. Brady has never lost to the Cowboys, and they haven't won a road playoff game since Troy Aikman was the QB

Don't know if Wilks is going to be made permanent in Carolina, I guess that would count as a firing if he's not?
If Carolina doesn't keep Wilks, that owner might as well sell the team, because none of the current roster will convince any other quality free agents to sign there. The players seem to love him, and they played some damn good football once he took over, and that's even with trading one of the best dual threat RBs of all time.

I'm hoping he sticks around. Honestly, they played in a crap division so their record might be inflated as a result

Steve Wilks deserves to be named the new head coach.....he did a great job.

I agree with Daboll too. Supposed to be rebuilding and playoff bound. Shanahan team is loaded with talent on both sides of the ball. CMAC if 49ers did not get him, I wonder how Purdy would have been.
