2023 Recruiting Thread

My main issue is, if you’re going to go, then go. Don’t leave the current staff hanging and then have to scramble to replace him. You’re not going to replicate that level of talent but you can get close if you keep your options open.

Exactly. It's better a guy jump ship elsewhere in August than in early December right before the early signing period. Still stinks but at least theres time to find someone else and not a last second scramble.

Yeah same for coaches.. they should tell the recruits if they don't have a good year they will be gone before NSD1... in August

Keeley officially decommits. On to plan B.

OB recruiting guy (Rivals) on his youtube earlier said he's hearing some things about Vasek possibly flipping from ou.. Wasn't ready to go there with that, but he is hearing about it.

This one was a really weird one ... dude was all Dawg until 3pm, then bam. Dawgs Rivals and 247 all had edits and commitment videos ready to go. He's not rated very highly but he's got some serious speed and we really wanted this dude. Tough miss.

The Oklahoma Sooners have been a national recruiting powerhouse in recent memory. Many players have been drawn to their winning tradition and innovative schemes.

Under the direction of Bob Stoops, the Sooners were quick to diagnose problems and adjust. Since Stoops’ departure, Oklahoma has been unable to identify weaknesses and proactively make changes.

Lincoln Riley had a great run as the Oklahoma Sooners head coach, but lacked the foresight his predecessor possessed. When Riley finally realized the state of the Sooners program, he packed his bags for Los Angeles. Five-star talents left with him for USC.

Now, Oklahoma recruiting is in shambles.

It’s still early and Oklahoma could finish with a great class, but the early returns for 2023 aren’t promising. Cole Adams, the No. 5 high school player in Oklahoma in the 247Sports composite rankings, chose Alabama over the Sooners.

The Sooners presently have a commitment from only one of the top ten players in their own state. Running back Kaleb Hicks and quarterback Jackson Arnold are the team’s only blue-chip commits. Both players are from Denton, TX.

With Texas taking over the Dallas area and Texas A&M’s success in Houston, the Sooners struggles in the 2023 recruiting class may continue.

I liked this kid since last season.. but it seemed like UT only had him as a contingency.. Real productive out of San Antonio, think he is a steal tbh.
I'm not as confident in this one compared to Evans..

what a steal he is going to be for yall.. gonna be a really good DT for y'all...luckily we have 5 current freshman/future 1st round OL to pancake his katy ass

Today Bravion is an Aggie again. I'll be back on 10/6 to announce his mindset at that time.

According to 247, Zona is currently ranked 42nd....

I'll take that.
