2023 season thread

I remember Harvick coming from 9th on a GWC restart to win at Richmond back when was still with RCR. Make it happen, and use that bumper
 
Well that was unsatisfying
 
That sucks. No talent brings out a caution, and a bad pit call.
 
Pretty sure this is the first race of the season where a SHR car other than Harvick has finished in the top 10

Just checked. It’s the first race this season where a SHR driver other than Harvick has got a top 15 finish. Meanwhile, Harvick’s worst finish is 12th

Good for Denny? He ruined his race too, and then his dumbass mouth got his ass fined and penalized. Ross Chastain remains undefeated against Denny Hamlin.
 
And NASCAR really shit the bed yesterday. Maybe the worst Busch race of all time, and they’re gonna piss a lot of people off if they go after Josh Williams. They told him to park his car because a piece of tape fell off knowing good and well they wouldn’t have done the same to a bigger team. He parked the car. The public is on his side

Yes. Good for Denny. If he dumps him 17 more times that will be 17 times I say good for him. Old days when young drivers was wrecking people it was the drivers that policed that shit.
I will say good for any other driver that dumps Chastain as well.
Was it smart to be honest about it. No. but I respect that.
If more drivers were honest about it maybe Nascar wouldnt act like such a girl when it happens.

They used to to penalize drivers during the race for rough driving. They were way more soft back then than they are now.

He failed the Danica Patrick rule of stock car racing. Learn how to ruin someone else’s race without ruining your own. Had Denny punted Chastain and still finished top 10, I’d be there with you, but the fact both of them finished in the 20’s, it was a fail for Denny. Chastain is still undefeated against Denny Hamlin

Denny had said he was falling back fast figured to be near the end of the lead cars when the race was over so figured he d take fuckhead with him.
He was never getting a top ten at that point LOL

by the way. getting a 2 lap penalty was for the initiator. Nowadays the guy initially dumping someone gets no penalty.
The big penalty (or suspension) is for the guy that retaliates. Where back in the day it was just fuck around & find out. They had talks with the drivers if they kept going over several races.
Nascar is a bunch of PC pussies today.
I am down with any of the old school drivers taking shit into their own hands.

He was running in the top 10 when the contact happened and it was a GWC, he finished back there with Chastain and paid the bigger price. One of the biggest fails in recent memory.

They have the boys have at it deal, using the car as a weapon under green is kinda dangerous. If you’ve got a problem, take the helmets off, leave the crews out of it, Duke it out in the garage and shake hands afterwards. NASCAR is no more PC now than it was when it was penalizing drivers for rough driving during the race. Remember when drivers fighting would result in majors penalties, but they face no punishment now?

Denny Hamlin failed. He finished just as far back as Chastain and faced a far steeper penalty, and he still is the most hated driver on the track. And I hate to tell you, he’s not old school. He’s just a really good driver that has gotten the short end of every feud he’s ever had. Joey Logano and Chase Elliott got the best of him, and Ross Chastain has been taking his lunch money every time their paths cross
 
Weekly pool is DOA. I drew Reddick and it sounds like he might need a relief driver due to sickness.

I would too, especially since Jeff Burton’s broken condom screwed him out of a win last week, but super speedways aren’t his strongest suit. Hasn’t won at one in 13 years. If the races last year and yesterday are any indication, if you finish the race, you have a shot though

Hell, even the one time Hamlin actually wrecked Chastain and didn’t ruin his own race, he got a win taken away, DQ’d and thus still finished lower than the wrecked Chastain. Hamlin might just need to learn that rivalries aren’t his forte. He’s never had a rival that he got the best of. He’s the top dog at JGR now and owns a race team, and after Harvick retires, he’ll be the oldest driver in the field. Might be time to grow up and focus on winning a championship. He’s not well liked and respected like Mark Martin, a championship is pivotal to his legacy.
