2023 season thread

Ford looks strong, but they did at Daytona too and they managed to fuck that up. Wonder how they’ll manage to do fuck it up today

And NASCAR really shit the bed yesterday. Maybe the worst Busch race of all time, and they’re gonna piss a lot of people off if they go after Josh Williams. They told him to park his car because a piece of tape fell off knowing good and well they wouldn’t have done the same to a bigger team. He parked the car. The public is on his side

I liked the Twitter clip of him in the pits where you can hear him say "What are they gonna do? Fine me? So what, I can't pay it"

LMAO

Denny Hamlin offered to pay his fine. NASCAR famously has no backbone, and it seems all the drivers and most of the public is backing Williams. I doubt he gets more than a slap on the wrist

They gotta do something since it was too public and disruptive. Like a suspension for a race or two. Presidents and race directors in the past though would absolutely have pulled his license and you wouldn't see him at the track ever again. They also wouldn't have parked him for a piece of tape, but I'm just saying.

We’ll find out Tuesday, but I bet it’ll just be a fine others will pay, and maybe probation. Suspending him would be very bad PR IMO

Plus, there’s not a ton of tire fall off, and with losing two laps, there’s gonna have to be a full fuel load under green before you’ll see any scheduled green flag stops

I fell asleep, what I miss?

I’m pretty vocal that I’m not a fan of this style of racing, but I get why they did it. That’s the most full I’ve seen the stands in Atlanta in a really long time.

If this race follows the trends for the other races this year, attendance will be up and viewership on tv will be down

Next week’s broadcast will be unwatchable with some F1 dude that barely speaks English. He had a big hand in the NASCAR Red Bull team, so at least he knows something about NASCAR

There's the big one

Can’t believe there was a big one that wasn’t caused by Keselowski, Logano or Stenhouse

How did Hamlin not get collected there

SHR always has a terrible day when Tony is in the booth
