was just gonna say wee are about to find out what type of driver Haley is in a minute.Haley and Elliott both need wins to make the Mickey Mouse shit show that only morons recognize. They have to be aggressive here, this might be their only shot
He’s right reared Riley Herbst on a straight at Pocono in the Busch Series.was just gonna say wee are about to find out what type of driver Haley is in a minute.
so Nascar doesnt want a race to end under yellow. What is overtime in racing and does it happen when laps are completed under yellow? I really don't follow racing, so excuse my dumb question
Thanks, Wish Indy car did that, hate seeing races end on yellowso Nascar doesnt want a race to end under yellow.
So if a yellow comes out before the white flag. They will extend the amount of laps need to finish the race under green. So even though they go past in this case the 75 laps because of the yellow they will restart with 2 laps to go. If a yellow comes out again before the white flag they will go into overtime again. As many timers as they need. Now if they take the white flag (final lap) then the next flag ends the race (Checkers or yellow)
I think a guy winning in his first ever start is a bad look for NASCAR. I’m happy it happened, but there’s gonna be a lot of shit talking from F1 snobs about that even if Jenson Button JJ Yeleyed himself in the race.I didn't watch much (bits and pieces and then the final 15ish laps), but from what I saw, NASCAR should be very happy. They can't control the weather but from everything else, they pulled that off pretty well. The track was set up nicely. It had plenty of room and was racey enough (also not their fault some of the series regs, including some prominent names, couldn't drive it worth a shit) to make it competitive. The background images looked great, which is also important for TV and marketing (also shout out to NBC for their camera work and decision to call the race like its a radio broadcast). And they couldn't have drawn up a better winner. To get a new team (Trackhouse project car) with a skilled driver from another series to win in his first race is a slam dunk for them. They get the story of his win and it draws in more interest from other people, sponsors, corps from outside of NASCAR to maybe give them a look.
I said earlier they probably should have gone with a place that had already done a street race before, but it turns out it didn't matter. They nailed this. It's well worth doing again

Wasn’t a bad race, but that never needs to happen again. There’s talk of Bristol only having one race even with the no dirt, Dover is down to one, New Hampshire is down to one, North Wilkesboro doesn’t have a points race, and they’re trying to bring back the Nashville Fairgrounds and Rockingham. Too many established good tracks for gimmicks.
I don’t like it when F1 and Indy does street courses and their cars are meant for those kinds of tracks. NASCAR has no business doing them.
