Lautaro Martinez should have started. Better than Alvarez. This was a generational crossover game. Messi did not win it for Argentina, Argentina won it for Messi. And that is the way it is going to be going forward if Messi continues. When Messi on field, Argentina basically playing with 10. Messi plays zero defense, but still magical on the other when he has the ball in the offensive end. Still can make that magical pass, dribble, shot, but most the game he stands around conserving energy. Sad to see Angel Di Maria retire. For most of second half he was the best player.

I think Messi will retire for good soon from the National team, they've proven they can play and win without him and have A LOT of talent. I predict he'll heal then do a couple games just so his last game isn't finished because of injury, and to be honest, I think he's earned that.
