2024 Natty discussion: tOSU vs ND

Last spring, well before Michigans title. We had a 2 game streak against Ohio state. Had a loaded team poised to potentially win a title that upcoming year.

Post in thread 'CFB Report's Top 25 over last 6 years.'

Neat.

We get it. This is how you cope with a crap season. It helps ease your pain knowing that after Harbs left your program is in ruin, but hey at least you didn't lose every game that mattered.

If Ohio State hoists the trophy history will not remember which teams they lost to on the way there and no one following the team will care one bit.

But you go right ahead and sleep better if it helps.

I remember ye olden days in 1980's and 1990's....

Congrats. You upped your 'dumbest thing ever typed' previous #1

I'd take a national title over beating Oregon every single fucking time.
So would everyone else in fan land.

You play to win the war, not a key lessor battle.

He is just desperate to somehow make scUM relevant after a 5 loss season

I think everyone hates it.

There is no sense of school or even team anymore. Players jumping into the portal the moment the season ends to try to grab more cash. Coaches actively recruiting off of other teams even during the season trying to lure them in.

It turns my stomach
For sure. I don’t even pay attention to recruiting anymore because it doesn’t matter, at least not half as much as it used to.

Like I said in another thread, mega conferences and free agency has pushed me to preferring the NFL

My season was great?

We beat every single rival and capped it with another win against Alabama. Unsure what you’re talking about?

When Ohio state talks about this trophy for life, the Michigan loss will be tied to it. And it’s the best. It also cements a coach in place who can’t beat us.

Sometimes, it isn't about cash, it's about playing time.

OSU had Will Howard come in this year with 4 qb's all rated 5 star. Howard will be gone and 2 of those guys are transferring out, leaving them with a RS freshman who has taken a handful of snaps and an incoming recruit. They will have to go to the portal to get qb's even if they are just for depth.

OSU is losing offensive linemen, defensive linemen and at least one RB and one WR, all because of playing time. None of those guys will be getting a bag at their new stop.

And yes, I hate it as much as anyone.

Yeah, but he’s trash.

Trash is kind of strong. He didn't have a terrible game and made some really great plays.

Honestly, he is probably better than either of the two QBs left.

Coaches can leave at any moment for a better job....

The kids should be able to as well.....

Not fan of the new age era of CFB but it is what it is.

It does kind of suck but every time I talk bad about it I see Caleb Downs on the field for Ohio State later that week and think "thank you transfer portal"

Especially if the kids get lied to by the coaches & I think that happens quite a bit.

But, the transfer portal shouldn't open till the season is officially over.

That should change.

Yeah, it had nothing to do with Ohio State's defense.

Texas is done. Moving on to Notre Dame.
I’d like to agree with you but Ewers has done that crap all year so it is hard to tell. He seems to perform the same against god or not so good defenses. The difference was he didn’t get by with it in three games. Shouldn’t have gotten by with it in several more.

Difference was the Buckeye offense. They beat a pretty good Texas defense.

I was mostly referring directly to the point about QB's being transfers with the point about luring with money and of course it doesn't apply to 100% of every QB transfer. I also don't blame the kids one bit for getting theirs while they can.

Just hate the trend of where the college game is going in general.

Not fan of the new age era of CFB but it is what it is.

No Coach is going to be hired leaving a school 3-4 times in a matter of 4-5 years.

I'm in full agreement with @Illustrious Potentate . One free transfer before graduation. That is two free transfers in 5-6 years. That is plenty

Michigan certainly could have been a little more stable this year at the QB, which probably would have notched us a couple more wins. But all things considered, our year was great.

Ewers also failed to get it done against UW in last years semi final when he had a chance to do a game-winning drive and failed to do so.

No one cares what you personally hold onto. Delusion is a huge part of any fandom. Copium is a hell of a drug.

If OSU fails to beat ND then for sure that loss to a rival ends up with salt on the wound. Otherwise if they win it literally means nothing. It will amplify the two teams going in opposite directions narrative.
