Still the weirdest "sport" ever
We saw a little of this last night. For as weird and dumb as it is, I couldn't help but be impressed by things like the whole group swimming for a long time upside down under water while carrying one of them who looks like she's standing on water.

This thing still going on? NBC just had that political statistician (or whatever) guy on to talk about the chances of the US and China leading the way in golds. US is up 27-25. He pointed out the good opportunities left for each. Men's 200, both basketball, and.... somebody else for the US. Four total. He then mentioned that China had five good chances at diving golds. Then he went on to say it is unlikely China could catch them because the US had so many more chances. We were scratching our heads and then the other guy in the studio call him a genius for figuring this out.
Dude also missed the women's soccer team, I guess because they didn't win the last couple of times. But that one's very much in play.

Yeah, i find myself watching it every four years and going "oh wow, that's weirdly impressive"

They are definitely better athletes than me
Virtually impossible to do a bang order on them.

Still wood try.
I'd like to approach the women's volleyball team first, but yeah

When he said "5 good chances at diving golds" was he clearly saying "a good chance of winning gold in 5 different diving events" or might he have meant "5 different divers with a good shot at gold"?

What about women's water polo? They are winning their semifinal match right now.

Five events. Kind of like the men's 200 really has more than just Lyles for the US.

I haven't been paying close attention during the week, but from what I've seen on the weekends, it wasn't something I noticed.
haven't had any issues on peacock during the week. usually see what's on the one with 4 screens and expand on 1 if it's a medal race or better than the other options .

Looking at the schedule it doesn't look to me like there were still 5 golds left to be awarded in diving as of yesterday. I see the Men's 3 metre springboard final today, the Women's 3 metre springboard final tomorrow and the Men's 10 metre platform final on the Saturday.

The US may have more than one shot at the Men's 200 but basketball only has one team contending. Don't know the last event so can't say about that.

I was pulling for Kenny Bednarak, but then I read that he was bitchin' about lane assignments and favoritism

So to summarize: China wins all the ghey medals like ping pong and pool jumping, while the americans win all the cool medals like track and field and basketball

Tae Kwon Do was my old sport so I am watching this olympic event. The sport has gone downhill due to the scoring.

You're right. I just went back and watched Guy's video. 3 diving and 2 table tennis.

Pretty sure diving is slave labor there and that's all those in the Olympics do their entire life.
