Nebraska Cornhuskers 2024 Recruiting Thread (Commit list in OP)

Third commit of the weekend is a 3-star DB out of Topeka, KS. Callen Barta... that's three under the radar guys for the weekend.
 
My gawd that is pathetic. What the heck is going on in Lincoln?

Three schollies gone for 4-5 years that could've been used in the portal.
In June no-less. i.e. Six months prior to early signing day. If Rhule can put an even halfway decent season together (bowl eligible) they might have some opportunity for transfers, late commitments, or flips, before December and February signing days.

Jake Peters has nothing but G5 and FCS offers outside of Nebraska. I've always referred to these type of players as "Best of the Rest". However, in this case not even low level P5's are interested in him so he doesn't even meet my "Best of the Rest" criteria.
In-state Iowa and Iowa State haven't offered him. (FCS) Northern Iowa did.
Since (G5) Army and Air Force academies have offered him he can't be dumb or even a criminal with good athletics that can play duh football game.


The other two commits have no P5 or G5 offers at all outside of Nebraska.

Braylon Prude's only other offer is (FCS) Eastern Illinois.

Hopefully those other two are good athletes that are just dumb or criminals that nobody else wants to take a risk on.
Keep pursuing those types of players and Iowa Western CC will give Nebraska a good game.

You're welcome to explain to me how three 2024 guys, who've been evaluated for at least a couple years by coaches and recruiting services, don't have any other P5 offers.
One couldn't even get a G5 offer, and the other couldn't even manage an FCS offer.

Time to enlighten R_A.

Your incessant bitching and whining shtick is getting old. Honestly, why do you even stick around? If they signed a class with nothing but 4 star kids, you'd bitch because they aren't 5 star kids.
Next up is you coming up with a clever tag line. One that will make most of us smile, maybe even laugh. The first dozen times or so that you use it. Then you'll beat it to death. Repeating it over and over. Every game. Every discussion. (See "Suzy Rottencroch" and "Scrapbook.")

You're a nobody. A self proclaimed, know it all. Your thoughts matter exactly Zero to the program. Contrary to your thinking, you are not the expert here. The experts are the ones making scholarship decisions. They get paid lots of money to do what they think is best for the program. I'm, almost, completely convinced that those experts have ever thought, "Maybe we should check with Mister Tagline himself and get his prolific opinion on these kids.
Your childish tantrums are pathetic and tiresome. I won't ignore you. But, from now on, I'll comment every time I see you laying on the floor in the condiments isle throwing another fit over something you don't fully understand.

It's amazing to me that this staff see's something in these kids that over 250 college football programs from D2 to P5 can't see.

One thing is for sure... Rhule and Co really trust their own evaluations over others. It remains to be seen how good these kids are as prospects, most haven't been actively evaluated by recruiting services. Late bloomers etc...

They're going after raw athleticism it seems. Both kids are track stars.

Isaiah Mcmorris is supposedly announcing something tomorrow as well... Not sure if it's a commitment or a top list of something
 


I'm receiving word that Nebraska will be receiving a commitment from Daevon Hall and Isaiah McMorris in the coming days... I trust the source. I'm skeptical, I had heard that Nebraska was moving on from Hall, but apparently things might have changed.

Worth noting that not all of these guys are a take even if they are visiting currently. That said - feels like a HUGE visit for Carter Nelson (who was at the CWS with QB Commit Daniel Kaelin yesterday) considering he is supposedly a strong lean to Georgia at the moment.

I expect, at this point that Hall (tomorrow morning) and McMorris (maybe tomorrow morning as well) will end up committing to Nebraska at some point soon... maybe during the weekend. Grant Brix received a CB to Kansas State after his visit last week there... he is clearly a top target for Nebraska and getting him to visit and knocking it out of the park is very important. I also expect Caleb Benning to commit at some point, though that might not happen until after the HS football season.
