Nebraska Cornhuskers 2024 Recruiting Thread (Commit list in OP)

FWIW - I think it's going to be a Top 3 release... Not a commitment
Ended up being closer to a top 50 lol. Still feeling pretty good about our chances here and my only doubts are because I cannot believe something this good could happen to Nebraska football.

he sucks now?

lol

He's still ranked the #1 QB in the country, they just put some guys ahead of him. For kicks and giggles look at the #2 ranked overall player on On3... and then look for his name to pop up on the big visit weekend March 24-25. Nebraska is in on 3 Top 10 players right now. Not sure the last time that happened.

I'm sure he talks to Matt Rhule nearly every day as well... this was never a slam dunk even if some people pretend like it is.

sorry @footballnut stealing your thread for a second..

this guy would be huge

LOL @ Tom Izzo praising Hoiberg last night after that huge comeback and beatdown. Something about he's got the program going in the right direction and they'll be really good in the future.
Of course you're going to praise a fellow conference coach that'll never be a threat to you.
Every Big 10 coach is hoping Trev keeps him around.

Fred definitely did enough to keep his job. Trev does not want to do a coach search currently.

Thoughts on what the team looks like next year though? He's riding Walker/Griesel/Tominaga and 2 of the 3 are definitely done at end of year. Can he convince Tominaga to come back?

I don't know anything about the guys he's got redshirting. Wilcher can have nights, but just no consistency all year. Lawrence looks like a good guard, going to need help though. Gary after injury we'll have to wait and see, didn't seem to be a deep threat. Did Dawson get hurt? haven't seen as much of him the past few weeks, was getting lots of playing time prior to the win streak but I don't recall him on the court much during it. Breidenbach is slow and makes a ton of stupid mistakes/fouls. Keita could be a decent defensive big man like he's been used during this streak, i haven't seen anything on offense to inspire confidence he can score without a really good guard. Kojenets, just needs time, seems to move his feet well, again, not sure if he'll give you much on offense unless he develops.

Gary will be back and he was a starter before his shoulder surgery... Keita and Wilhelm will be back. Starting five, without any additions probably looks something like this:

PG - Jamarques Lawrence
SG - CJ Wilcher (Keisei Tominaga if he comes back)
SF - Ramel Lloyd Jr.
PF - Juwan Gary
C - Blaise Keita

Off the bench you have Wilhelm Breidenbach, Oleg (if he comes back), Sam Hoiberg, Denim Dawson (if he comes back).

You may be looking at only having 1 or 2 new starters and likely need to get a few transfers to help with scoring, so not starting completely from scratch.

Nice post and find... I was just coming to tell everyone that I will be posting the tentative visit list for the March 24-26 weekend soon... it's a lot of names... and there could be more on the way.

I don’t remember hosting this many high profile recruits at the same time since the Friday Night Lights camp back in the Riley days when Micah Parsons and all those guys came out.
