2024 Recruiting Thread

How are UGA people feeling about Breeland?

I know there's some growing optimism on the Oregon boards that they're going to win their first of what seems like 100 recruiting battles against UGA. However, it seems like Miami and Georgia are still in the picture.
Less optimistic. Per all the insiders and staff, he's an Oregon lean at this point.

Sark missed on his top target Stewart the year prior. Got Cook last year, who appeared to be the staffs top target. Missed on Wingo and Hudson in this years class. Dokorian Moore in next years class. Not the best hit rate with his top WR targets fwiw
What did I miss? Wingo is a miss for UT? I see some Mizzou momentum, but no announcements.

I had read some stuff about Mizzou and big NIL, along with Burden. But then there was buzz solid to UT. Who knows ... long way to ESD.

he can make money in Austin as long as he plays well like Worthy.. there's so many local corps that contribute yearly to deals for the players there. I think Mizzu is a straight collective with a few boosters who are paying a salary.. so kid gonna get paid regardless

if he does choose Mizzu.. oh how I wish Marquis Johnson would hit the portal and come to UT.. love that kid

Texas should never lack for WRs. Nor will UGA. The Portal will be good for teams like that.

Mizzou's strategy is to pay for some very good 5*, and pay a lot. Luther Burden set the tone on that for them.

atleast they are trying to keep their homegrown kids in state..

Big win for Lanning and the Ducks. If the Ducks can close with Breland, Rushing and Johnson, that would be a great D-Line haul.

At this stage, you should use the Points, not Avg. Colorado is a great example. They may be at 89.22, but they only have 9 commits while Texas Tech has 20. It's not likely that Colorado will add many recruits that will increase their average.

Also the 247 Composite uses a formula to balance quantity and quality. It won't work for teams with only 9 recruits, but does for ones with 19 v. 26, as an example.

That's fair. It's hard to know what's the best way to gauge recruiting classes. Some teams like Colorado are taking small classes intentionally and plan on loading up in the portal. It's obviously impossible to know how teams will do with the portal right now.

By the way, not being critical. I've really enjoyed you doing those over the years!
