3 VA Football Players Killed

What about what I said was political?

I stated the rules of the college.
“do you think a student should have a gun on campus?”

Political discussion prompt. Keep digging the hole. You did it. I called you on it.

College rules are not dictated by any government, bud.

That quote isn’t about a specific college rule on any specific campus.

You asked a question that is a prompt for a political discussion. I literally quoted you on it. In black and white. Keep digging. .

YOU:
““do you think a student should have a gun on campus?”

Moreover, UVA is a state school, not that that has anything directly to do with the FACT that you were starting a political discussion

Again ill, I am not even seeing a basic story. No mention of the victims, no interviews, no statements...ya know a typical news story
did they cover the university of idaho homicides? always a lot to choose from in any given day.

I want to know WTH prompted it. Pissed that he was no longer on the team and targeted players like some sort of deranged lunatic for some reason? This is so sickening. God bless those kids/victims. Literally sick to my stomach knowing their lives were cut so short and also the pain and agony that their families are going through.

I heard about the 3 kids being killed before I went to the Drake MBB game tonight (saw a R.I.P. post on another site and did not investigate), but I was unaware HOW they were killed. My first assumption was a car accident before I heard they were killed by another person. My next assumption was gun violence, not a knifing or some other odd way. Just an assumption based on the odds. Either way, I had no idea until I opened this thread titled: "3 VA Football Players Killed". I looked to see if it was known HOW they were killed. Now, I know. It is sad and tragic, and HOW they were killed has no relevance to me. Just sucks balls that 3 kids were killed today in needless violence in America.

Shh
Guys don't make this about guns or Hammer is going to get mad.

I don't see how its about guns. If a nut job goes off on a middle school it becomes about guns. Personally I'd prefer its less about guns and more about how it was easy for a nutjob to get the guns but it's a very nuanced issue and if political leaders can't figure it out a few assholes on a sports message board have no hope.

This isn't that. It sounds weird but this seems like a crime of passion. Some dude took out a few of his former teemates. If he has access no gun law is changing that so no point in debating gun laws. It's just a really fucked up thing.

Sad situation all around

Weird take, given that the Idaho murders didnt involve athletes. More specifically, athletes whose games ESPN broadcast this year.

ESPN not touching this story for 12 hours is weird when they damn near gave themselves carpal tunnel to get a story out first about a dude they tried to blame for calling a guy wearing a foam dinosaur costume the N word.

What does that have to do with anything?

The shooting occurred at 1030 PM and ESPN didn’t even have anything online until almost 10 AM the next day. He’s furthering the point that ESPN didn’t touch it on air at 6 PM.

Missing left and right here.

Unfortunately, it will ALWAYS be easy for a nutjob to get a gun. No law is going to change that. When you have 393 million guns in the US -- if you want a gun, you don't have to look too far. And not trying to make this political, i'm not anti-gun, just stating a fact.

So, because you could afford to live in an off-campus apartment, you can have a firearm for protection, but the kid who needs to stay on campus doesn’t? Weird stance.
I lived on campus for 2 years in a dorm. Then I got an efficiency off campus and my buddies teamed up and got apartments. We never had firearms for "protection"; we had them for the purposes I mentioned. I did have the pistol in my car because I lived a long way from my hometown and I usually made the trip at night. We were living in a different world back then. Nobody thought of shooting up the joint. In high school many of us drove pickups with a rifle and shotgun in the gun rack....even some of the girls. But they stayed there.....period. Don't judge those times by what is happening today. It was different......and better in my opinion because differences were handled with profanity and fists. Never firearms.

sounds like he hadn't been on the team for some time...he may have been butthurt about that...but it also could have had nothing to do with football

it sounds like he was going after these guys regardless over something...just so happened that he showed up with his gun

the fact that he had a gun and the campus police never looked into reports is what bugs me. Could it have prevented it? Maybe..but just feels like them not going the extra mile and now they get this.

None of what you wrote answered my question.
