41 Years ago Today

I've got a tube of ash from it somewhere.

Wasn't there an observer for the USGS that was too close and they never found him??
Yea or something like that. When I saw this thread it made me go back and read up on the events. The USGS guy was 6 miles away

Went there a few years ago.

No sign of Sasquatch.

says it refreshes every 5 min.

There was also a USGS guy found dead with his binoculars still raised to his eyes.

Flash fried, I think.

The ones in the area were all killed. Special forces disposed of the carcasses.
They did a nice job. I searched till the wee hours.

Easy to find near the coast. Footprints en sech.

I remember that.
We had some volcanic dust all the way down here.

I drove through there 15 years ago while in Wash St getting some stuff done to my SHO on the cheap.

It looked like a war zone still. You could see layers of mud, trees, more mud, etc. Hard to imagine being anywhere close and making it through.

I remember there was some guy (maybe a scientist) that had a video camera on the back side of the volcano had video of him trying to survive & walk on the Mt. while this all was going on. Some documentary or some shit when I was a kid. Just remember thinking damn. How could you be on that mountain & live.

A friend of mine when I was a teenager moved to Minnesota from there a couple years after it happened, he gave me a glass jar of the dust but I have no idea what happened to it. Crazy it's been 41 years, damn i'm old!

I want to say I saw a doc on this recently where this guy had the camera up and it caught the perfect angle of half the mountain blowing off. Can’t remember if he survived or if it recorded him trying to survive but not making it.

There was a movie back in the 80s about this (Art Carney played the Truman guy and the person I’m thinking of might have been one of the main characters.
