#5 Michigan vs #1 team in New Jersey Rutgers 7:30 BTN

Dominating so much they were losing...
Yes -- that's what happens when you give up a blocked punt for a TD and miss two field goals. Rutgers had 3 first downs in the 1st half against Michigan.

Rutgers played clean, Michigan made mistakes. As I said -- the same thing happened against Penn State. We were losing at the half against Penn State. Penn State had ONE first down in the 1st half. But they had a pick 6 and a play I still can't believe -- Shaun Clifford ran for almost 70 yards on a 4th and 1.

The scoreboard does matter, but the statistics are much more telling on how a game played out, unless a team dominates and pulls their starters late in the game.

Michigan outgained Indiana 470-226.
Michigan outgained Michigan State 443-251

Even Maryland -- we outgained them by 100, but the score looks closer because they had an 80 yard drive and got a 2 point conversion in the closing seconds, when UM went to a prevent type defense . Same with Iowa -- 75 yard drive in the final minute to make it look closer than it was.

Everyone is going to have games where things don't go right, but NW has one of the worst offenses in college football and their defense isn't much better.

It happens. Like I said Ohio State tends to have these clunker games where they lose or almost lose to some shit team. This year the rest of the season doesn't seem to say that its a trend though.

In 2018 for example. We gave up 51 points and barely won by 1 against a 5-5 Maryland team, that had previously scored 3 and 0 points in losses to Iowa and Michigan State.

Then we went on to beat Michigan 62-39 the next week.
