His remarks were to fire up the fanbase and his players, and it appears to have done just that. Recruits also loved it if social media is any indication.

It also has clearly triggered quite a few folks from other fanbases...:hide:

I'll be completely honest, I heard about that clip and before I saw it I was expecting Ryan Day to have basically fucked up bigtime but I thought he handled it really well. I came away with an improved perception of him. I think the aggression toward Holtz was perceived in the perspective of shit-talking we do in cfb, not as in "I'll kick his ass." Speaking of which, has Day commented further on what he said or actually talked to Lou Holtz?

Why? Holtz is a blowhard who has made his post-coaching career being just that, it's not like Day threatened him or something.

I dunno. Corso definitely has some mental deficiency but at this game they honored the 88 NC team on the field and they were literally holding Holtz up under both arms
