i was in the 7th grade

I'm not afraid to say that I like some George Michael. I even dug on Wham back in the day.

I can't remember what my first cassette tape was. Might have been the Miami Vice soundtrack. Loved that shit. My first CD was Motley Crue's Girls, Girls, Girls.

The 1980's was the WORST decade for music of our lifetimes. Great bands of the '60s & '70s turned to utter dog shit in the '80s. Fuck synthesizers and love ballads.

Worst decade for POPULAR music.

But popular has always sucked.

I agree that it was the worst for popular music.
I agree that popular music has always sucked.

That said, most of the good rock bands that put out some quality tunes in the '70s got gay as fuck in the '80s (see Van Halen & Rush for starters).
