If you believe we are heading into an inflationary period almost any debt makes sense for investments. I'm at the age where preservation of capital is the prime interest.I get the philosophy
With rates as is, if I have 40k cash, Im investing it because return should be > low interest in today's market
Well I'm not too worried about an aging packer fanIf you believe we are heading into an inflationary period almost any debt makes sense for investments. I'm at the age where preservation of capital is the prime interest.
I retired at 60 due to health issues. Refied the house. Started cashing out 401s and Roth account. Cashed out of my precious metals over past year. But I am just short of 70. Age and risk tolerance makes a huge difference.Well I'm not too worried about an aging packer fan
I have 15 year mortgage, well now 14, some advise against that and suggest investing extra payment
Too me not having a mortgage is one less expense I need worry about in retirement, and therefore less savings needed. Im sure my plan could be better, but it's what I feel comfortable doing
My plan is to go to 30/hours week at 55 and retire fully at 60, no mortgage factors into that plan.

All sorts of financial advisor will give similar advice, many are even more conservative than I am.
But you be you.

No, leasing isn’t for everyone. Neither is buying. I didn’t want to buy when I was looking five years ago, so it made the most sense to have small payments on a car. The deal worked out just as I planned during the lease and when I came to buy, it worked even better than I planned when I had them do a lease buyout of the car.

I don't disagree, but consider the source.I see both sides of this... IMHO you do what you feel is right for you and don't let anyone tell you otherwise... People find themselves in different situations and have to act accordingly

Between the two of us, you're the only one who considers yourself an expert in every situation on everything.

Why did you buy the Tucson instead of leasing?
