Aaron Judge, ROIDS?

He's gotta big head so obviously right?

I guess I don't understand a hitting stat when I have to go 3 pages in to find Hank Aaron and still haven't seen Albert Pujols on the list.

The stat adjusts for park and league. Not every park is equal, nor is every MLB season. There's a big difference between putting up a .900 OPS playing at Coors Field in 2000 versus a .900 OPS at Candlestick Park in 1968.

Just because Aaron and Pujols don't have seasons ranking higher doesn't mean they weren't amazing players.

He stole that spinach from the Detroit Tigers … our home run leader has 14.

This might be my favourite "dominant" season, check out what Wally Berger did in 1935 while playing for the worst team (they lost 115 games) in possibly the worst hitter's park in the NL. 34 HRs and the only other Brave who even hit more than 5 that year was 40 year old Babe Ruth. It's like the batting version of Steve Carlton in '72.

I always mention Berger on forgotten great players of yesteryear threads.

the wind last night was wild...same thing in Philly where you thought a ball was out just to get blown back into the field

I'm surprised at the coverage here tbh

We really gonna pretend that Bonds didn't hit 73
I think people would rather find a way around it

talking about the AL record and all is one way to do that.

Bonds is still the HR Champion IMO

He's going for the American League record, Maris and 61.

This is dumb too because there is literally zero difference between the leagues now. IL play happens all the time and both leagues have a designated hitter

Not sure how that has anything to do with a single season record though... especially when the big record was in the NL when there was no DH

Hank was consistently very good for a ridiculous amount of time, but didn't match those guys in single seasons.

How is any of that "virtue signaling"?
I'd assume because they're saying they would be charitable when it's easy to say so since they won't have that decision to make.

No he didn’t.
Ok if bonds didn’t cheat then why did he blow up from his early playing days to his later playing days. And you don’t hit the ball as far as he did when your as late in your career as he was. It just doesn’t happen
