Aaron Rodgers is an Asshole Thread

So after a year with the Jets, Favre will go to the Vikings and crush them with a godawful INT at the end of regulation in the NFCCG?

How many picks does he have to throw when the Jets play the Packers to satisfy the deal?

good trade... not sure i would have given up next years 1 because you know he will play 65%...

unless they play the packers early in the season and the packers go all bounty on his knee

Surprised they gave up that much for a declining 40 year old QB when the Packers really had no leverage.
I think the Jets did pretty well on this as they badly needed a QB and Rodgers will make them a playoff team.

Obviously the Rams and the Bucs pulled the best deals because they got rings but I’d put this behind those trades. A distant 3rd but better deal than Cleveland for Watson or Wilson for Denver.

and really. if the Jets do what they think they are going to do and make the playoffs.. then that pick is a 25th pick or something.

Rodgers might get them to the playoffs but I think the time of him being a potential super bowl winning QB has definitely passed.

Funniest would be if this explodes and things go terribly wrong. Do the Jets start sitting Rodgers at some point to avoid that 65% mark if they start off like 2-6 or some shit and things just arent clicking?

He's definitely not getting them to a Superbowl, but it seems like peanuts to give up even for just the extra media attention.

I mean, pick 13 for pick no 15? Lol. They're paying these GMs millions for this.

I actually missed that they were swapping firsts. Not nearly as bad as I thought.

Let's be real we have seen Rodgers do more with less than almost anyone in the league not named Brady. He isn't that far removed from some really good play and a change of scenery with an organization that believes in him could be an interesting combo.

I'm not a Rodgers fan by any stretch of the imagination and think he might be one of the biggest weirdo in a league that is full of weirdos but the dude can ball and read defenses. Give that guy an above-average line and he will make plays. Considering what the Jets gave up its a great deal for them just to have a shot.

Honestly this seems fair for both sides. GB gets (in all likelihood) their two 1sts and a 2nd and the Jets get their guy to make a run with.

The only caveat is if he plays 65% of the snaps they get a 1st in 2024. Let's be real there are teams that have given up much more to move up in a draft to take a rookie QB that wasn't proven. You basically swap two positions, potentially give up 1 number one pick and some later-round draft picks for a future HOF that most likely gets you in the playoffs next year.

Greenbay is the team that got shit and they have to build a team around Jordon Love and not a whole lot of talent surrounding him and will still be eating Rodgers' cap space next year.

Who do you want to be next year a Packers fan or a Jets fan? I'm going Jets on that one.

I'm not a Rodgers "hater" at all but he looked pretty mediocre a lot of last season.

Maybe he just didn't really want to play in Green Bay and hot dogged it, but I guess we will see.

I don't think there are any questions his heart wasn't in last season when you compare it to the year before. They basically traded most of his favorite talent and I think he was over it.

I thought Brady wouldn't do shit in Tampa but I was dead wrong and I wouldn't count Rodgers out in NY.

Even if it was some of his "heart not being in it" his arm just didn't look as good as it has. Looked like it lost a step a good amount of the time. I guess we will see though. I could be wrong, but I think the Jets are going to be more disappointed than not. Even if they do happen to make the playoffs, to the fans this has to be considered a super bowl move.
