ACC Basketball

i don't usually read sports articles but this is an interesting one on the ACC's basketball decline

I honestly think, the conference as a whole, just didn't move all in with this NIL stuff right away(outside of Louisville). The more you spend, theoretically, the better you should be. I feel like Cal, Stanford and SMU could all spend whatever they want, if they want to get serious about competing. Rumors are is that VT is going to step up with resources.

Mike Young is one of the best in the business. he just needs more resources.

I actually do think he's pretty good. Track record is there. Even with the ACC being down still getting to 8 league wins was impressive given the roster limits.

You forgot /s at the end

I got home in time to see the final few minutes of half and the OT. Just two bad teams and a ref crew trying to see who could represent the ACC in a worst display. We fumbled that game away with some completely boneheaded turnovers with just bad execution. A couple extra mil in NIL doesn't teach a kid how to inbound a basketball but its been a problem for us all year. Mike Young is mid at best

We're getting a boost from revenue sharing, whether we get additional NIL is up in the air but it'll be some. However, the boost in resources can be wiped out if other teams also increase their funds thru revenue sharing as well, which most certainly is gonna happen. Right now we're like dead last. No insider will give us hard numbers but the funding increase would put us around 6 or 7 for teams' budgets THIS year. But if other teams increase their funds, we're probably around 10th. It's better, but I don't think its gonna be enough to make us consistently competitive

I heard on a podcast that instead of using the money to buy Young out, it was gonna be used towards NIL. Idk if that's true or not, and you'd probably know better than I, but I think that's a good idea. I agree the rev sharing won't be enough to catch up with the rest, because everyone will be able too. But that on top of extra resources will help.

i know more about your team, jackass. and i say the Hokies are lucky to have Mike Young. Period.

and as the deceased @duckboy33 would say, go argue with yo mama

seriously tho

i just realized @duckboy33 has been MIA since january. any idea where he is at

@ericd7633

He disappeared after Oregon got blown out against OSU in the Rose Bowl. Looks like he logged on to the other Hoop on Jan 31. Guessing he's probably on some Oregon board somewhere. Not sure if he'll be back or not.

Tmrw's evening session at the ACC tournament ...

Cal-Stanford

Red hot lower level center court tix going for $16...

Imagine saying this sentence to someone 20 years ago. Lol.

Someone should be murdered for that call to the game. We can’t have that type of stupidity amongst us

But ya, pitt with a nightmare season. Flopped so hard after a nice start.
apparently the ref that made the call was blackballed by the NBA for using a Celtics burner account.

The only thing funnier than Cal/Stanford in Charlotte would be Cal/Stanford in Greensboro, lmfao

Fun conversations on OGBoards

Duke down 5 at the half and Flagg leaves the game with an injury. It didn't look great. I can't imagine he'll play the rest of the game. Brown also left the game with an injury.
