ACC Basketball

i was at the game and i was 50/50 on who i wanted to win since i genuinely like both NCSU and Clemson. over the course of the first half I shifted towards Clemson for two reasons:

1.) they brought their dance team and not their cheerleaders. dancers are fucking hot
2.) there was a NCSU fan sitting behind me that couldn't have been older than 12 years old that kept shouting "LET'S GO DJ (Burns)!!!!" right in my fucking ear.

Imagine losing to this shitty team 3 times in one year

Also fuck the acc for giving us 2 straight 930 games. There’s two games today. No reason they can’t spread them out to like 530 and 8

tbh, i miss it when the semi-finals used to be on a Saturday at 1 and 3:30 and the Finals were Sunday @ 1 PM

9:30 games fucking suck

If NC State is a tournament team, clemson simply has to be. But I'm not so sure NC State is.
if NC State is an NIT team, then Illinois should play in Dayton.

Illinois' actual performance numbers are only slightly better than NCSU:

Illinois: 2-10 vs Q1, 7-2 vs Q2, no Q3 or Q4 losses
NCSU: 1-6 vs Q1, 7-4 vs Q2, no Q3 or Q4 losses

there needs to be more transparency on how much a Q2 win is actually worth. If they are worthless then both Illinois and NC State should play in the NIT.

I think NC State is pretty firmly in, although you can never be 100% sure.

I also think Clemson is in now. But if not, kinda hard to be mad when they lost to Louisville, Loyola, Scar, and BC. Those aren't just bad losses. Those are terrible. In fact, fire Brownell.

I think NC State probably ends up in Dayton. The big numbers for State are that they are 2-7 against the field and have a NCSOS of 242. They also have no Q1A wins. Although Duke might get there by Sunday. Their results based metrics suggest about an 11 seed, their predictive metrics about a 12 seed. But I can see them getting left out.

As for Illinois, I think they're safely in on the 10/11 line, and miss Dayton. They have 5 wins against the field. Plus have beaten Texas and UCLA. Their resume certainly isn't great, but IMO it's better than NC State's by about a seed line or two. But, I will say if some chaos happens I could see them slide down to Dayton.

I'd have Clemson in over NC State. Clemson reminds me of Rutgers from a season ago. Great/good wins but also terrible losses.

I mean, if this is the logic the committee is going to use then the quad system should be abandoned

I think using the quad system is fine, but not all quad 2 wins are created equal. Like beating Miami at home is a lot better than beating Vandy on a neutral. NC State is just in a tough spot. They don't really stand out in anything, other than having a pretty good record relative to others around them. I think they'll get in, but I wouldn't be surprised if they missed especially if some chaos ensues.

then using the quad system is not fine.

I'd be fine going back to top 25, top 50 wins etc and just counting them, but I do think taking home/road into account makes sense. I just think NC States issue is they haven't beaten tournament quality competition. Especially away from home. I do think they'll get in, but im gonna guess they're in Dayton.

Yeah baby.

I need some scissors and a ladder.
