ACC Basketball

Virginia has played like 3 good teams this year. They have been pasted in all 3. Not a scary team at all. Hauser is legit but hes not gonna hunt his shot and take over game after game. The rest of the guys are solid role dudes and much worse at this point than the usual Viriginia teams.

FSU looks like usual FSU. Super deep, super long, super atheltic. When on, they are dangerous against almost anyone.

"camp", LOL

basketball players are mentally soft and them being pandered by hoops weirdos from the ages of 13/14 on up is a big reason why.

Perfect candidate for the bitch ass NBA.

Only play team ball if it suits you and if doesn't ... join your buddies and for a superteam.

I agree with those who said it's starting to slip away from Coach K.

Man... years ago, he would've just sat any kid like that.

He did. His last three games and he was coming off the bench;

UNC- 25 minutes, 14 points
Notre Dame- 15 minutes, 8 points
NC State- 8 minutes, 3 points

When Jalen was out injured the team got better, and when he returned after the injury, it clogged the floor and stagnated the offense. This team was better by subtraction and JJ was the reason. His recent cut in minutes are a result and probably pushed his Father to make the call. Sometimes it's just better floor spacing and offense when certain players are out of the game. I liked Jalen and wish him no ill will, but he wasn't going to be satisfied being a substitute player for this team.

I wasn't the only one who saw it.

He was hurting the team imo. Now does it mean they will get to the dance? Probably not but this team should gel more now

"Yeah, just so we're clear on (Johnson), I hadn't heard that there was any problem — it's just he hadn't been playing well, and certainly hadn't played to his level of capability," Bilas said. "But ... he's had some injury and some lack of continuity throughout the season, so it certainly wasn't easy for him. But even if he were, if it was an issue of, 'Hey, I'm not 100%,' there's a difference between sort of remaining within the season and not playing due to injury, and just opting out of the whole thing. I mean, for your NBA stock — if you will — that's going to raise a lot of questions from NBA teams that Jalen Johnson and his family are going to have to answer."

Nope, Duke is out unless they win the ACC Tournament and get the automatic bid. That's unlikely since FSU, UVA, Louisville, and just about everybody else is better. Thankfully there will be no NIT this season due to Covid.

Hadn't heard no NIT so thank you for breaking news for me! Good thing, Duke doesn't really deserve to play in NIT either.. Wake up call for them hopefully

Sorry, the CIT tournament has been cancelled. The NIT will still happen, maybe...

2021 National Invitational Tournament will be a single-elimination tournament of 32 NCAA Division I men's college basketball teams that had not been selected to participate in the 2021 NCAA Tournament. The Tournament will begin On March 16 and end on April 1. The first three rounds will be played on campus sites, and the semi-final and championship final played at Madison Square Garden in New York City, all of which will be played behind closed doors.

haha. No worries. We all make mistakes :dhd:

I doubt seriously that they play it. And if they do I doubt K accepts the invitation.

He might, just so players can get the feel for it.. Obviously not the Big Dance but it's similar this year since neither will have fans (NIT or Big Dance) but he probably won't accept it

While I'm a casual watcher whenever VT is on television, I don't watch much outside of big rivalry games (UNC/Duke) and the tournaments, otherwise. Never thought I'd see the day that VT is a lock for the NCAAT this late in the season while, Duke is a bubble team at best. This isn't to disparage, but a genuine surprise.

While I'd love for VT to stay in the upper third of the ACC in the future, I know how strong the conference is and even with the "blue
bloods" down this year, recruiting has always been our Achilles heel, primarily with football. Should we stay in the middle, with NCAAT appearances, I'd consider it a plus.

COVID has made for an interesting year, so whether this is a complete one-off year versus a trend will take time to figure out. I'm not holding my breath, but I'm very pleased this far with the new coach.

Seems to be some consensus about this hurting his draft stock too given what happened in high school.

Yeah apparently him quitting is a major trend. Didn't realize he bailed on so many situations.

Pitt loses to NC State @ home

Jeff Capel is not the answer @ Pitt

#75 on kenpom in year #3

with COVID, it's hard to properly judge recruits that are rated between #40-#150ish. Recruiting is always a crapshoot for guys that are ranked in that area
