hopefully, NC State will get their shit together and make the NCAAT, too. The only ACC teams to make the NCAAT will be the Big Four from North Carolina. If that happens, I'm going to troll the SHIT out of Syracusefan.com.

Virginia Tech sucks now so there goes Wake's one quality win. Maybe, NW will turn out to be a good team. I have watched every Wake game (hell, I have been to all the home games) except for the Oregon State game. They pass the eye test, but I'm still a tad concerned about the one game I didn't watch...how do you almost lose to that horrible Oregon State team? One thing that makes me feel good is the idea that they're only going to get better because they're breaking in so many new players. They only returned 3 rotational players from last season's team. Currently: 1-1 against Quad 1 teams

Now to UNC. Michigan is looking questionable right now (down to #49 on NET) and the Heels looked overmatched against Purdue and Tennessee. Currently: 0-2 against Quad 1 teams

Duke's win against Gonzaga is pretty impressive and is the only thing that is separating them from the Deacs right now. If it wasn't for that win, this league would have even bigger credibility issues. Currently: 1-1 against Quad 1 teams

It is only December, so ofc, all of this is subject to change
 
Pitt loses to Monmouth. If Pitt can't pick up any steam during ACC play, then uh, this may be the worst ACC team in my lifetime...and I watched many of the 2010/11 Deacs games in-person.

Yeah, alot can change for sure. I think Duke is going to win the league by 5/6 games or so. Wouldn't surprise me if they went 18-2 in league play or around there. I'm guessing UNC and WF will be in the 11/12 range in terms of wins. Which would get both in, probably on the 8-10 lines. After that NC State probably has the next best chance, but I can't trust them. They have the potential to play with the #1 team, but also to need 4 OT's to beat Nebraska. All depends on who shows up for them. I do think anyone that wants to make the tournament is going to need to get to 11/12 wins in conference. And that's only of the teams we are taking about. Teams like Cuse, UVA, UL, FSU and ND have already taken on a bunch of losses OOC. They'll probably need 13/14 and that might not be enough.

ACC has I think 4 Quad 1 wins. By comparison the B1G has 14, and I really didn't think the B1G had a great OOC. Good, not great.

The best scenario for them is for Duke to run away with the league.

Damn, L'ville lost to DePaul at home? That's bad.

it is important to note that quad 1 is defined as this
#1-30: home
#1-50: neutral
#1-75: away

Only 6 ACC teams are currently rated in the top 75 on NET. Really puts a team like Wake in a tough bind. Wake's only loss is to the #3 team on NET.
 


lol and tbh, i doubt LaVaria has the most dunks on the team this year. Forbes has done an excellent job on upgrading the talent and athleticism.

Yeah that's the biggest issue. They do only have 4 and one of them was a conference game, and the other is Navy, which won't stay a Q1 win. And yeah the B1G has been I'd say above avg OOC, certainly not what the Big 12 and Big East have been.

I think best case is for Duke to go like 18-2, but with their 2 losses to WF and UNC, so they can get a Q1 win. There just aren't many Q1 opportunities. Duke is the only team in the top 30 of the NET, so because of that, unless you beat Duke at home, you aren't getting a Q1 win at home.

Yeah, like I said in my previous post, unless you beat Duke at home, you're only getting a Q1 win if you beat teams like WF, UNC, VT(for now) NC State on the road. It's really stunning to see 8 teams outside the top 100 from this conference.

i think it is unlikely that VT falls below #75 on NET. NCSU is currently #132 on NET? They are nowhere close to being a quad 1 win, even if the game was played on Mars.

I'm not all that familiar with NET outside of their quad system, but uh, i'm not sure why NCSU is so low. I'm guessing NET factors in margin of victory against bad opponents and that is something that NCSU has struggled with this year.

Damn. I just assumed since they were 7-3 and played Purdue tight, they'd have a chance to be a Q1 road win for visiting teams. They've got a long way to go. They've also played a shitty schedule and our only 1-3 against Q1-Q3. I can see why they'd be so low at this point.

LOL, you beat me to it. tbh, outside of that one year random year w/ Jerome Robinson and that other dude from NC w/ the red hair, this has been pretty on brand for them since they fired Skinner.

Yeah, they've been terrible since firing Skinner. The hire they made this off-season didn't really make a lot of sense either. I don't think the move to the ACC hurt them because when they were good they were recruiting underrated guys like Dudley, Smith, Williams, Marshall, Jackson and Rice.

Dudley, Smith and Marshall were all from California. Rice was from Virginia, but i have always heard he had some tie to Winston-Salem? I was in middle school/high school when Rice played so I never really got the full details on that. Apparently, he was always pissed that Wake didn't offer him a scholarship.

Jackson was from Colorado. Troy Bell was from Minnesota. Sean Williams was from Texas. lmao, Skinner's best players were from everywhere BUT the northeast

Yeah, that's another good point to add. Those dudes were from all over the place. So it's not like playing at MSG(Big East tournament) would be a draw for those guys, at least I wouldn't think so. I can see that being an issue with Pitt and Cuse declining. That's a big draw for Northeast kids. Back when Pitt was a top 10 program their roster was heavy on kids from PA, NY and NJ.

tbh, i didn't notice LaRavia wasn't even in the building until the third possession and i noticed there wasn't a tall white guy in the game for Wake. i don't really pay attention during player introductions
