All tackles lead with the head

By NOT lowering his head as to lead with the 'CROWN' of his helmet, you dumb fucker.

It's NOT a "form tackle" if you're leading with the 'CROWN' of your helmet.

At this point it's obvious you'll never know which portion of the helmet constitutes the 'CROWN'.

Hint.... It's not the facemask, it's not the back, it's not the sides.

It's where a "CROWN' would be located if placed on your head. Hence the term 'CROWN'.

A 5 year old would have understood this 10 pages ago.
Lmao. How? This thread has collages after collages of literally hundreds Of regular everyday form tackles that show much more than enough of the crown as to get one penalized for targeting… as long as the offensive player’s head moves in the way.

show form tackles where there isn’t enough crown to get one ejected.

rhe only ones to come close are the ones that come in super high. That’s dangerous. That’s the thing we want to avoid. And you can still get ejected.

You cannot form tackle someone at the belly button or at the waist or at the crotch or at the thighs without exposing enough of the crown of your helmet to make you susceptible to this rule. PHYSICALLY IMPOSSIBLE

If the defender is NOT lowering their head and exposing the 'CROWN' it doesn't fucking matter what the offensive player does.

You just can't get that simplicity into your empty skull.

Field view......

Where's the defender's head?

WHAT, WHAT?

You cant even see it from behind It's lowered so far down.

Targeting with the 'CROWN' of the helmet.

Yes. Just like all form tackles. I’ve given you literally hundreds of examples in this thread.

every form tackle exposes enough crown to catch this penalty

You're an idiot, and your thread is based in complete dumb-fuckery.

Again. I’ve given hundreds of examples. Show a form tackle where NOT enough of the crown is exposed to potentially catch this penalty.
LITERAL HUNDREDS of every day form tackles show you’re wrong. Every one of those regular form tackles can catch a penalty and ejection

Yet you apparently haven't been able to convince even one Hoopla member.

get rid of targeting and only call unnecessary flagrant hits.... and just call them as unsportsmanlike conducts or unnecessary roughnesses.

It's a collision sports and big hits are part of the game. If you don't want to risk injury and millions, then don't play. If you do, when then you know what you are getting into. Can we all stop pretending that this isn't a dangerous, collision sport?

There was a study that found the majority of concussions occurred during practices. Hence the NCAAs new practice rules and limited contact.

I am all for making the equipment as safe as possible. If they want to incentivize all these giant financial institutions to create the best pads, helmets, etc... that actually help, great. Changing the sport and wussifying it is not the answer. Limiting pads, tackling, etc.. in practices is not the answer, now these kids aren't learning how to actually tackle in practice and more injuries will occur. At some point we just have to say 'Hey, it's fucking dangerous.'

The number of players that we have heard of being permanently injured is rare given the number of athletes at the high school, college, and NFL level. Accept the risk or don't, I bet most will since it is rather rare, and lets get back to some big time fucking hits.

Stop wussifying the sport in the name of "safety". No one wants people to get hurt, but it is part of the game. Deal with it or get the fuck out.

The "CROWN" of the helmet is proven to be the leading cause of concussions. One can only take so many concussions in a lifetime without there being permanent damage to the grey matter.

The use of the 'CROWN' has NEVER been a part of the game. It was called "spearing" when I played in the '70's.

The NFL led the charge on the concussion issues.

Looks like ElTexan finally found one to defend the dumb-fuckery of using a helmet as a weapon as opposed to it's intended purpose as a safety precaution.

I don't care about any of that nonsense. It is up to the player that is lowering his head to not do that, he is in control of himself, if he gets injured because of his actions, I'm sorry, but that's his fault.

99% of the time these are bang bang plays. I don't wish anyone gets hurt, but micromanaging, ejecting players, changing the game, etc... is not the answer.

No one defended anything, just don't see the point in changing the game because someone did something stupid. Kinda feel the same way about gun laws. Never mind the fact that there is rarely any consistency in these calls.

If you prefer two hand touch or flags, that's fine, you can youtube that shit and have your fill. The rest of us would like to get back to the knowingly dangerous sport of football.

Duh Fuq?

The vast, vast majority of injuries are to the player that the dumb-fuck blasted with the crown of his helmet.

I've no sympathy for the player using his helmet as a weapon.

I’ll write this for the fifth time:
Form tackles that occur in a certain zone, let’s say the baseball strike zone, should not be penalized with a targeting foul or ejection just because the runner decides or is made to coincidentally dip duck dodge dice slide etc
That way the tackler knows to stay low (INSTEAD OF GOING HIGH like the current rule incentivizes).
of course blatant personal fouls can still be penalized under rules that have gone back several decades.

And for the millionth time: ALL FORM TACKLES EXPOSE ENOUGH OF THE CROWN OF THE HELMET TO CATCH A PENALTY UNDER THE CURRENT RULE. That is a fact, and we see it happen weekly.

form tackles below. All have more than enough crown leading to catch a penalty in case heads collide.
