Oh. I must have missed this. Didn’t know he was out again.

Mrs OE’s ex had it bad back on Nov. they set him right and got him back out but it took a long time for him to fully recover. He might not even be fully recovered yet.

Hopefully a little support can get him back on track.
 
I have a cousin, whose only symptom of covid was loss of taste. It has been almost 9 months, and still no totes. Says everything kind of tastes like cabbage.

On one hand thank God that is all the impact your cousin had. On the other hand….that’s it’s own level of fresh hell.

Ok. I don't understand health care protocol. It was determined that he now has viral pneumonia. Now a guy testing positive for COVID comes down with viral pneumonia seems like a candidate for hospitalization. But noooooo. Sent him home and says to come back in if he feels worse. :headscratch:

Whoa….that is for damn sure a red flag on the face of it. Legitimately, viral pneumonia on its own cant be quickly fixed, but has to play out. Support can be administered to help get through it.

Possibly it means he has it but it’s not bad enough to need direct support at this time.

Can’t help but wonder if he’s admitted in a bed if the hospitals aren’t being maxed out? But that’s my own musings.

I also see this is the kind of stuff that feeds a society ever more untrusting of the medical system. I get it. Maybe someone like @Wizardhawk can give better insight since he is on the ground with these kinds of situations.

Really depends on his O2 levels. When they confirmed I had pneumonia they sent me home with a z pack and steroids. When I felt I wasn’t getting better I went back and they admitted me because my O2 was dropping. I couldn’t walk from here to there without being winded and my heart rate was not coming down

Like I said, I really don't know, but I guess that makes sense. I get the idea that he felt worse than the 1st time they sent him home. Maybe he didn't meet the criteria.

Forgot to update. Mentioned it on the PF. He seems to be improving after last visit to ER. Fever broke O2 levels increasing slightly. Scheduled to go back to work next week, although even he says that may be too soon.

All in all, good news.

One thing really strange about it the I don't remember hearing before. His employer requested a 2nd test before he came back to work, but his doctor said it was not necessary. The doc said he would continue to test positive for 90 days. What????
