Anyone Feel Like 50 Kicked Your Ass?

DT Jack Youngblood broke his leg. Told them to tape it up & finished the game.
That wouldnt be allowed nowadays.

Bobby Baun is another one, in 1964 he broke his leg in game 6 of the Stanley Cup final and he not only went back out onto the ice but scored the winning goal in overtime. And then he played in the Cup clinching game 7 too.

Stickhandling is very painful and I have no power on my shot/pass at all (it's my bottom hand). Slap shots are completely out of the question. I played through it for a while when it was my right shoulder but I can't do it with the left, all I can really do right now without pain is flick the puck using my wrists.

I didn't injure them playing hockey, it was just age and lousy sleeping positions I think.
I haven’t played in a league that’s allowed slap shots in like ten years. Blocking a shot and breaking my ankle last year was brutal. Couldn’t put any weight on it for three weeks, so I couldn’t get back to playing for five. It didn’t heal properly(since I didn’t go to the doctor), I can’t get into a catchers stance for more than a minute without feeling pain.

I am 50 as of beginning of September. I am 5 feet, 8 inches and about 220. I can still sit in the floor Indian style and get up with no trouble. For some reasons, this amazes people. However, I feel like I have no energy at all now. Wake up each morning here recently with a shooting pain on the right side of my right foot. Walking is a major deal. It usually works itself out by 1:00. Rinse, repeat. Getting old sucks.

I wish I hadn't played flag football til I was 40. That shit is giving me all sorts of issues, not least of which that my Achilles tendons are a constant source of fear of snapping. It's not all bad, but I should have stopped playing sooner.
Quit wearing hooker heels.

Ja Rule does. Maybe Diddy and Floyd Maywether.

My brother in law retired from rec hockey at around 40 and immediately put in a lot of weight.

He doesn’t work out either. So once he gave that up it was downhill fast.

I've actually lost over 50 pounds since I stopped playing, I'm lighter than I was when I played in college.

Some of it was upper body bulk but most of it was beer weight. That's the downside of being on a winning team, excessive drinking tends to go along with that (I mean they don't call it "Beer League" for nothing)

I’ve recently switched leagues to help with my burnout. I was playing with recent fresh out of college / retired younger former pros and getting dusted. Now I’m playing with older fatter guys and it probably bought me another 15 years or so.

Then I’ll be at an age where I’m ready to go anyway.

He’s a very social drinker. Was burning a lot of calories skating around few times a week. Now it’s just adding up.

For you guys who don’t have time for an actual gym membership you can get a full body workout using nothing but dumbbells and your body weight at home. I have very simple programs I can share that aren’t as complex as the other one I showed.

Hit shoulders, thighs, tris and abs tonight then on the way out of the gym some kid stopped me and asked me for my autograph because I guess he thought I played pro sports.

Was really good for my fragile masculinity. Might watch A-Team reruns to celebrate.

Some people in this thread will be happy to hear I developed a strained right calf muscle today during my workout.

Seriously? No one gets this? I thought it was pretty clever.

OK. I guess I’ll fuck off then.

A thread full of 50 year old white guys is not the best audience for your rapper jokes.
