lol how is coaching stability favored with UGA? Think Monken will be a lifetime OC? Campus experience? NFL path? Bro when was the last time y'all had a 1st rd QB?
1. Smart v. Sark ... which one is more likely to be there in the next 4 years? Smart's the good choice there. As for Monken, what about your OC? How long is he going to be around? I hope Monken is around for another 5 years ... getting Arch might lay out that timeline.
Stability favors UGA in a big way. Now, you could argue Offensive coaching might not. Sark being an O guy, and a good one, while Smart is a D guy. Then Monken is more of an issue.
2. Campus experience ... yes, Athens with downtown Athens is a better campus experience than UT with Austin, IMO. But, mileage may vary. Will be interesting to see if he likes the smaller college town like Athens v. the large city with a college within it (see, I learned my lesson on calling Austin a college town).
3. NFL - Which team just broke the record for players being drafted, and which team just had zero players drafted. In general, we have had way more NFL draftees than UT since Smart go to UGA. It's truly a crime that UT hasn't had that many. One of the mysteries of life.
4. As for QBs, I don't think you thought that through at all. Which team just had their QB win the Super Bowl? It wasn't Texas.
Who have you had drafted? Since 2006, 3 QBs. Ehlinger went in the 6th round last year, then you hadn't had a QB drafted since Colt McCoy in 2010 who went in the 3rd round. Prior to that, Vince Young was a first rounder in 2006, who had about a 5 year NFL career.
UGA has had 5 QBs drafted in a similar time frame. QBs in 2005 (3rd), 2006 (7th), no. 1 overall in 2009, 2014 (5th), 2020 (5th). So, since you asked, we have both had one first rounder - ours no. 1, yours no. 3. Our first rounder has been a starter for 12 years, and just won the Super Bowl, yours was out of the NFL in 5 years and never won anything.
Honestly, neither of us will be called QBU any time soon so I am not bragging here. It's just funny you posted as if that was some strength that UT had when it really isn't at all.
