Arch Manning news ...

Yeah, but On3 is just touting the fact that they are the only service that is making a big deal out of NIL. It's incredibly stupid. They have all these formulas for determining a recruits NIL value and none of makes any sense. They have some good content on NIL, but them trying to act like they have even an iota of knowledge of what a recruit can earn is plain stupid at this point.

Even if it were true, do you think there would be a difference between UT and UGA? I guess he might mean more to your program where you are now, but if UGA wants him and it's just NIL, I'm guessing we can pony up if we want.

I think it will come down to:

PT - TX
Coaching stability - UGA
Campus experience - UGA
NC chances - UGA
Proven NFL path - UGA
SEC - push assuming UT gets into the SEC in the next 3 years.

What else do you think goes into it?
lol how is coaching stability favored with UGA? Think Monken will be a lifetime OC? Campus experience? NFL path? Bro when was the last time y'all had a 1st rd QB?

1. Smart v. Sark ... which one is more likely to be there in the next 4 years? Smart's the good choice there. As for Monken, what about your OC? How long is he going to be around? I hope Monken is around for another 5 years ... getting Arch might lay out that timeline.

Stability favors UGA in a big way. Now, you could argue Offensive coaching might not. Sark being an O guy, and a good one, while Smart is a D guy. Then Monken is more of an issue.

2. Campus experience ... yes, Athens with downtown Athens is a better campus experience than UT with Austin, IMO. But, mileage may vary. Will be interesting to see if he likes the smaller college town like Athens v. the large city with a college within it (see, I learned my lesson on calling Austin a college town).

3. NFL - Which team just broke the record for players being drafted, and which team just had zero players drafted. In general, we have had way more NFL draftees than UT since Smart go to UGA. It's truly a crime that UT hasn't had that many. One of the mysteries of life.

4. As for QBs, I don't think you thought that through at all. Which team just had their QB win the Super Bowl? It wasn't Texas.

Who have you had drafted? Since 2006, 3 QBs. Ehlinger went in the 6th round last year, then you hadn't had a QB drafted since Colt McCoy in 2010 who went in the 3rd round. Prior to that, Vince Young was a first rounder in 2006, who had about a 5 year NFL career.

UGA has had 5 QBs drafted in a similar time frame. QBs in 2005 (3rd), 2006 (7th), no. 1 overall in 2009, 2014 (5th), 2020 (5th). So, since you asked, we have both had one first rounder - ours no. 1, yours no. 3. Our first rounder has been a starter for 12 years, and just won the Super Bowl, yours was out of the NFL in 5 years and never won anything.

Honestly, neither of us will be called QBU any time soon so I am not bragging here. It's just funny you posted as if that was some strength that UT had when it really isn't at all.

I saw "Arch" and thought this was the foot fetish thread, damn it

I hope like hell this kid ends up at texas. It would be so fitting.

1.Sark IS THE OC

2. 😂 U are speaking for Arch on campus environments? You said you haven't visited Austin since the 80s, that's enough to say that Athens >Austin?

3. How many QBs of yours were drafted last month, again?

4. Didnt know that Stafford played under Kirby.. But I do know that Sark has had lots of success with QBs and in the draft as a qb coach, OC and even head coach.. Best case in point.. He got Jake freaking locker drafted in the 1st rd.. JAKE LOCKER.

so far Kirby best pitch is.. Look what Fromm did here.. I will put the best skill position players around you and you will be a 1st rd pick.. Unlike Fromm.. Go Dawgs!!

Hell I don't even think y'all have better offensive skill position players than UT right now and if so.. It's really close

People seem sold on him. But I can't deny the nagging thought in the back of my mind ... is he really that good?
He would do very well in Alabama or Georgia’s offense (haven’t watched much of UT) because they are more pro set and NFL lines. I’m not saying the kid can’t run but there is a huge difference in running for a small private school in New Orleans that has attracted the best talent in the state to play with him and playing every week in the SEC.

This kid couldn’t go to Ole Miss and pull off what Carrol did from what I’ve seen.

Carroll? 😂 😂 😂
What qb has ever looked great at uga under the multiple OCs Kirby has used?

Sark could be gone in 2 years what with Texas fans and power brokers. UGA is much more stable.

Clearly the only reason that Texas is in it is because of Sark. His O at Bama was impressive, and I'll grant that he has a great record getting QBs into the NFL. But his record as a head coach is terrible, he has personal issues he has to stay on to of. You say UGA has to keep Monken ... hell, you guys have to keep Sark.

Texas lacks everywhere else ... meddling politics, underwhelming for many years, can't seem to get the Texas talent, and don't seem to develop the talent they get. Certainly not in contention for NCs, and when they get to the SEC will they even be in the top half of the conference. They should be, but you can't count on it.

Kirby's pitch is this: we bring in high 4* and 5* every year ... we will have 3 in front of you. You will practice every day against one of, if not the, best D in the country. We have Monken as our OC, and if he leads we will get a top OC to replace him. (I am sure they have shared his plans. Even if he's going to leave, they will have to have explained the progression thereafter for us to be in the top 2.) You come here you will play for championships.

As for better O players, O is better this year than last ... you want to compare our talent? GTFO. We return a QB that just won a natty, with 3 really good guys behind him. At best you are hoping Ewers is good. Our OL is better, our TEs are way better. You have the best WR of of both teams, but have depth problems, whereas UGA has a ton of talented and experienced WRs many who have already played in championships. At worst for us, RBs are a push. You were 5-7 last year, let's not get ahead of yourselves and start comparing your talent to the defending national champs.

That Texas talent is so good you were almost able to beat Kansas with it.

Perhaps, but with the addition of neyor, Hall and hopefully a healthy Bijan.. I say we are the favorites by 3 heading to Lawrence.

Arch isn’t going to a school with a newly minted starting QB with three years of eligibility left. Stop.
Scenario 1: the team is getting better. Arch will ride the pine.
Scenario 2: The team is a shit show again and there’s a QB controversy that Arch wins, and he inherits a crap team.
Scenario 3: The team is better but secretly Arch is promised to start anyway. #TheChrisSimms
Do those sound like scenarios you want to take on?

I don't know your QB situation, but Ewers was 1 year at tOSU, so this would be his second year. Let's say he is really good. His third year would be Arch's first year. He isn't expecting to start as a freshman ... so he sits Ewers third and last year before going pro. If he isn't good enough to go pro, then Arch can beat him out in his second year.

The scenario is no different at any of the schools he is looking at. UGA is stacked with talent at QB. At least one will transfer, but when and if Arch comes in he will be behind at least 2 of Beck, Vandagriff and Stockton. Bama has 2 good QBs behind Bryce.

No quality program is going to have immediate PT, barring injuries.

Heard he's supposed to be the best Manning yet but watch him be a bust.
Cooper was the best of that family.
