Are the Reds gonna topple the 62 Mets?

The 4 game series split the Braves had to start the season with them is looking pretty embarrassing right now. They have a much worse run differential than the 2003 Tigers who needed to win 5 of their last 6 to keep from taking the crown for worst record of the modern era.

I really feel bad for Reds fans. They could have been contenders if not for terrible ownership, and now they look like they’re gonna be historically bad this season

I went into the Reds series thinking "the Reds are are gonna turn the corner now and take two out of three from the Brewers". Nope! The Brewers put 34 runs on them in the three game sweep.

...Maybe the Reds should swap rosters with their AAA affiliate?...

I am really looking forward to seeing how the Brewers do against the Braves - a team that can pitch.

We’ve got 2.5 good starters right now. The main guys in the pen are lights out though.

Fried has been great, so has Wright. Anderson is shaky but effective. Charlie Morton looks done though and I don’t know what we’re gonna do for a 5th starter

According to ESPN, the current Saturday match-up is scheduled to be Fried vs. Burnes - two of the best pitchers in the game right now. Really looking forward to that game in particular.

Lauer has been pitching really well so far and he's slated to be on the mound tonight.

Ashby is slated to face Morton on Sunday. Ashby is still a developing pitcher who hasn't quite found his groove yet. My expectation is that is probably going to be the highest scoring game of the weekend.

Regardless of who wins, should be a fun series. :beer2:

I don’t think we’ve announced a starter for tonight yet. I hope they go with Spencer Strider, but it’ll probably be one of the AAAA bums that we keep on rotation.

I honestly wouldn't expect to see Fried pitch until Sunday. That's normal rest.
 
Reds starting pitchers have an ERA of nearly 9. They got shit for all the players they gave away/let walk. It wasn’t even a rebuild, it was a pure salary dump. I’m giving any Reds fan a free pass to pick another team and not be judged
 
they already have a run differential approaching -100. it's only May 6th

Was at game 162 of the 2003 season.

Really helped that Minnesota trotted out a AAA team.
 
Hope this is still on for tomorrow since today got rain canceled.

 
At this point, they‘re on pace for 19-20 wins. That can’t hold up.
 
This gives new meaning to "Better dead than Red."
 
I think there's some intriguing arms in their rotation (Lodolo, Greene, Mahle was a really good pitcher in 2020-21) and they have been without Minor and Castillo. As bleak as the offense has been, they do have India (2021 NL RoY) and Stephenson (113 OPS+ in 473 MLB PA as a catcher). They're bad and they'll probably be bad for a while, but I don't think they'll remain this bad. The NL Central is hardly a gauntlet.

Yep. I'm convinced my Redlegs are setting the new record this season. Once the NBA and NHL playoffs are over, sports will basically not exist for us.:pout:
