They are losing it's grip however.. Seems that the coaches on the 7 on 7 teams throughout the state are getting much more juice when it comes to steering their players whichever way helps them.. Also trainers are getting in on the action as well.Unless you live here, a lot of people don't understand just how strong, tight and influential that group can be. Hell, there are a lot of people that DO live here that still don't understand it. The group will also tell a college coach which players they really should stay away from. That falls on deaf ears sometimes but they still let 'em know.
And the Texas High School Football Coaches Assn is multi generational. Ex: Graham Harrell's grandad was one of the leaders of it back in the day.
