B12 Thread

Watched quite a bit of K-State at Texas last night. At times it looked more like a bar room brawl than a basketball game. Refs let too much go IMHO. And not/against either team...just too much.

Someone better beat Kansas besides Texas Tech or they'll start to run away.

K-State on a two game win streak.

TCU has only played 3 games. Everyone else played 5-6. COVID?

Oklahoma and Iowa State are 2-4. Me thinks both are better than that.

With all that talent, Texas is only 3-3.

Good game @TechRaiderRider

But you should have beat us by a lot more.
thanks ralphie,
but dunno bout a lot more
eers played a pretty physical game,
and were in it until the very end -
Morgantown will likely be a different outcome -

but tonite, we gotta find a way to hang with the jayhawks in Lawrence -

Hope you beat them by 100

Kansas is dumb as shit

Apparently Harris and Wilson were the only people in america unaware Texas was gonna foul there, shoot the ball.

In key posessions all Texas did was face guard Ocahi and Braun. Make Harris beat em.........he didnt have a prayer any time he tried

Big win for Texas.
It is. But I'm not too sure about the Big 12 being what they were cracked up to be earlier in the year. Same for the B1G.

Now I'm thinking the SEC and PAC 12 are looking better right now. At least at the top of the conferences.

This just in.
Iowa State blew a 15 point lead at home to K-State today.
And Genralissimo Francisco Franco is still dead!

What I can tell you is that the last place team in the Big Xii (Iowa State) went 13-0 OOC winning the Pre-Season NIT with wins over Xavier (Big East) and Memphis (AAC) along with other wins over Oregon State (Pac-12), @ Creighton (Big East), Iowa (B1G) and Mizzou (SEC). So, at a minimum, I would say that the bottom of the Big Xii is tougher than the bottom of the other leagues with apologies to the ACC (no data). Now, the Cyclones are sucking hind tit in the Big Xii!

/ sarcasm

They're still in the field as of now.

Though I don't know how you can include a team that's 6 games under .500.

If things continue, Rutgers versus Iowa State would be an epic argument.

Top to bottom, I would agree. As the SEALS say, “No Easy Day” in the Big 12 so it may be the fact they are beating each other up. I am in no way saying they are bad. And there are several teams top seeds do not want to see early in the tourney. While not “world beaters” there are several Big 12 teams that would be a real pain in the ass in the tourney. Just not so sure their “top” is as good as previously thought. Baylor avoided injuries last year but they damn sure ain’t this year. Kansas just seems to be missing sumpin’ compared to other years. Texas has been disappointing considering their talent.

Too bad the NCAA wacked Okie Lite. They’ve looked good. ISU, KSU and TCU are pleasant surprises.

16-9 overall against a strong schedule with a bunch of Q1 wins means something. Not sure what is wrong with them at the moment. They simply are not playing as well as they were earlier in the year. That being said, I don't even know if they will win another game. @ TCU on Tuesday night.

OU has lost 2 game to Kansas by 2 points each game.

Yeah, they've been dodging quite a few bullets with close wins in conference play.

ISU 62-61
OU 67-64
K-State 78-75
Texas Tech 94-91 (3OT)
OU 71-69

And only one 79-76 close loss to Texas.

Yes but there comes a point where you have to win your conference games.

Arizona State in 2018 comes to mind as a comparison. They were top 3 and beat a Kansas team that went to the Final 4. Then they stunk it up in conf.

But they still finished 2 games within .500 and were first 4.

Oh, I understand. I'm not arguing for ISU to be in or not. Just stating that part of their resume is very good - which is why they are still showing up in brackets.

FWIW, I am not in favor of at-large teams that are below .500 in their conference being chosen to play in a NATIONAL Championship Tournament.

Heck, I think there should only be two teams from every conference. The Regular Season Champion and a Conference Tourmanent Champion (played without the Regular Season Champion).

As for ISU at the moment, they are:
