B1G in discussion to eliminate divisions by 2023

so whats the preference? pods? select constant teams? every team every other year? or every 2 years(home and home)?
I would love pods, but there are only 14 teams in the B1G, so doesn't really work currently.

I wouldn't mind setting up 3 annual B1G opponents and then rotating 5/5 years to play the other 10 teams.

My preference for years has been
8 conference games
Each team has a unique 3 “permanent” rivals
The remaining 10 teams get in two pools of 5 that rotate which one is played annually.
Top two conference records play in CCG
Two OOC games must be P5/Notre Dame teams

The one I suggest is considered “pods”

Be honest, would you rather your team be Bama right now or Georgia? Say Georgia bc of the last title while ignoring 7 won in 15 years or whatever and I'm calling you a liar

If he was a Bama fan he would be calling for Saban to be fired for choking in the championship game he will never get them another title.

I’d rather it be Georgia. More recent natty and less incest jokes(still some, just not as much)

who would be your 3 permanent rivals? UM, PSU, tOSU?

BTW I really do like the pod system, even if you don't necessarily see it listed. Play 3 or 4 other schools every year no matter what. Then play random schools in conference (4 or 5). Play 3 or 4 OOC games, hopefully play other P4/P5 schools with at least 1 of those games (should be 2)

I was thinking more everyone can have at least one good and one bad team.

Like MSU could be Michigan, Northwestern and Wisconsin

Read in 11W where someone projected the protected games for every B1G team. Michigan States was northwestern, Michigan and Penn State

Ohio state's was Michigan Penn State and Maryland

I originally had that for OSU. I’d prefer Wisconsin over Penn State for a rival. That early 2010 games were great

IL would be liking this for sure

You can make changes but eventually waters will level. And you are still playing everyone every other year so it’s not like you are escaping

Ive done one before where I thought it out and tried tie ring up teams more. This was just a quick one for people to get an idea
