B1G/Sec talk scheduling partnership

B1G just wants some of that favorable week 6 ranking magic from having SEC on the upcoming schedule.

It’s a power grab and rehearsal for what the other conferences will endure before they take control of March Madness as well.

The SEC and B1G are pretending to play nice while putting the infrastructure in for a super conference that controls all money sports at the top level.

I’m not saying that is right and it’s definitely going to hurt college sports but that is what is happening.

Letting Texas in sealed that deal anyway.

Texas has nothing to do with how shitty auburn has become.. you let a skeleton crew of a team show up at your stadium, played it's C game and beat you with your A game...

We tried to warn you.

nobody is listens to a school who hasn't had a 6 win season in.. 6 years?

Wait, that was their A game? Holy shit.

Yeah, 4 a piece is ridiculous. I don't think the B1G has 4 teams that will be worthy this year. That would be bad.
That's a negotiating starting point. "We are big and bad enough to do 4 each. But, we'll settle for 3."

It's up to the committee. They took a jab at them, saying they didn't need them. If the committee just looks at Ls, and doesn't consider SOS, then the P2 will do 3 or 4 AQs.

Ok. Just make it 8- four team divisions. 16ish games a year. 2 games (home and away) vs everyone in your division, 4 games against another division in your conference and then 4 against a division from the other conference. Then a couple games vs teams with similar records from the previous year.

Then, get this, you take the winner from each division and the 3 next best records from each conference and have a playoff. Have the championship 2 weeks after the conference finals for some stupid fucking reason.

Yeah, let's eliminate 100 schools from the competition. Losing 100 teams' fanbases will surely make the sport more popular. And, never mind the pageantry and traditions of college football. Just mix 'em up and fuck it. That has to work.

Lol. That went out the window a while ago

B1G and SEC don’t have to negotiate much less settle. They’ll dictate how it is going to be. Golden Rule “He who has the gold makes the rules.”

Yeah, but 4 is greedy and the old trope about pigs getting fat and hogs getting slaughtered applies. Getting 2/3 of the slots two conferences is just too greedy, and likely not deserved. I'd rather have someone compare the SEC/B1G nos. 4 v. the ACC/B12 no. 2 to decide which should get in.

No it didn't. Everyone keeps saying that, just like they said that the CFP-12 would run the regular season. Bama and UGA might play each other 3 teams this year. I was in Tuscaloosa ... trust me, no one gave a shit that might happen. That game counted to every player, coach, and fan.

You still have your pet rock, and you rub one off before every game, and you run down a hill, and your dork coach trys to out run the players, and you storm the field after every game. It seems like the pageantry and tradition are fine and well.

Damn! That sounds teal country right there. You’ve been playing possum posing as a big city, sophisticated attorney at law.😂

But the B1G and SEC don’t have to worry about getting slaughtered no matter how fat they get. No?
