friends of mine are in Colorado boarding right now. Looks like great conditions there.

I've never been on real powder.
About 6-7 years ago we were out in Whitefish, MT and overnight we got about 18 inches of fresh snow. Best skiing I’ve ever had...but holy shit I was tired from plowing through that stuff by the end of the day.

I am like @Guy Incognito where most of my skiing/snowboarding is in the Poconos, and that is all ice.

I really want to do one trip on some real fresh snow...one day. Looks like an entirely different kind of skiing.

He was doing his usual holier than thou routine on covid protocol on bamagrad and she called him out on his new orleans trip and other things.
2021 and things are still the same it seems.

Giants Ridge is fucking tit. We stayed at Spirit for like two hours before getting bored with the place so closed down. Considered going to Lutsen, but fuck that drive after the 4.5 hours to just to get to Superior. I almost balked at Giants Ridge too for that reason.
I’ll have to keep Giants Ridge in mind. Lutsen fucking rocks. Ski in/ski out from our cabin and overlooking Lake Superior. When at the top of the run it looks like the lake goes on forever. Highly recommend.

And if you go right away in the morning and head straight to the far side of the hill, you’ll have the place to yourself for nearly an hour.

Our local hill we go to varies between fresh snow and being ground down to ice, depending on how long it’s been since we got decent snow. Won’t complain though since we have a couple pretty decent hills within 30 minutes or so of the house. Easy to go for a couple hours and still be worth it.

Used my Christmas money and splurged on some re-released Kobe’s. I’m sure the person I bought them from would be mortified to know I plan on wearing them and not collecting them.

If you like Lutsen, GR may be a bit too chill. I'm still apprehensive as fuck after my owie last year, so I don't go on Blacks at all. GR had a great selection of Green/Blue.

Only Green/Blue probably wouldn’t cut it for my crew. Can’t keep Lil’ Kobe and Deuce off the Blacks. We haven’t let them do Double Blacks yet, but I’m afraid that’s coming quickly.

Look at you talking to a female about something other than periods and gossip.

Look at that personal growth over the past couple hours.

Right after I took this picture last winter, we zoomed down a Black. Kids were well in front of me. I went ass over tea kettle and it took a solid 10 minutes to get myself back in working order. Kids zoomed down, went back up the lift in their own, and met me again at the bottom. Fuckers are hard to keep up with.

Unless you have the right skis (fat), or you're comfortable going very fast on steep slopes, powder is a lot of work.

In terms of cumulative hours, there's no question that the vast majority of my skiing has taken place at the underwhelming Boston Mills Ski "Resort," I've been all over out west. Probably more than a dozen resorts in Colorado, Utah, Nevada, California, and Canada. The conditions can vary, but what I really love is the vertical feet you're able to drop on a single run. Hauling ass for 10-15 straight minutes is exhilarating.

Hey, that's a hop, skip and a jump from me in Kalispell, MT.

Think Phil Jackson lives about 10 miles or so outside of Whitefish, MT.

I've been done for about an hour or so. The GF called to inform me she is stopping by the store to pick up some stuff, including 2 ribeyes.

I'm just patiently waiting.
