What's the incentive for playing Louisville or NC State when you are going to have a million opt outs and the game will be like the super bowl for that program?

Winning gets you nothing and losing with a handicapped team gets you laughed at.

i don't view bowl games as indicators for heading into the new season other than if it's a CFP/NY6..

Iowa's offense isn't doing dick against Michigan. They'll be lucky to ever have the ball on the good side of the 50 outside of if they have like a blocked kick or a fortunate INT.

My to be honest I believe they beat Washinton and get in. I believe they can beat anyone they would get matched up with except UGA. and in that event they dont lose as bad as last year.

If both teams bring their A game, UGA wins easily. If Bama brings their A game and UGA brings their B or C game, things get interesting

Basically all I’m saying is Bama was lucky to escape an Auburn team playing their Super Bowl. Doesn’t mean you can assume you’re just gonna walk all over Alabama and can look past them

This isn't unfair, and yeah if UGA for whatever reason shits the bed in a must-win game they could lose. Obviously Bama has talent. To circle back, though, if UGA is still elite UGA who deserves to be considered the unquestioned #1, this should not be a difficult win.

One last time ... you are the one that is going off on "SEC rivalries." Do you see anywhere in a single post of mine that I said anything about "SEC rivalries?" No, you don't because I didn't. What I did say was the Iron Bowl is a rivalry like no other that I am aware of where the records of the teams simply don't matter. So, drawing the transitive property from NMSU to the Iron Bowl means zero ... nada ... nothing.

Now, as I said I think three times now, yes we should beat Bama because we are the better team. We seem to agree on that. But I don't give one rats ass about what happened on Saturday in the Iron Bowl. It means nothing with regard to our game.

This is my point. You're dismissing poor play because it's such a "unique rivalry" when in reality Alabama wins that game with ease if they were a better team. I get that it's Auburn's Super Bowl but that's the case for many teams when they play Bama. When I see other very ugly games Bama has played this year, I feel like the Iron Bowl is just yet another good indication of who they are this year. Talented but wildly undisciplined with several weaknesses.

If Trey sits, it'll probably be Chip + Hayden playing. As long as we have Fleming, Stover, X, and the freshmen we should be fine on offense. I mean, look what Kentucky just did to them, and their offense is horrible.

They're a 10-win G5 that got smoked at home by UMass and lost to 8-loss Hawaii who is also playing in the weakest FBS conference. I have respect for Kill but damn, that dude was almost 6 feet under a few years ago. I get Auburn looked past them, but that should've meant a close win, not a blowout loss. This also goes back to my comment on Bama - Auburn's offense is abysmal this year. They can run well enough, but their passing offense is 125th in the nation and their scoring offense was somewhere in the 70s before Saturday.

If that is who Bama is (combined with the other horrible outcomes they've had this year), I do think UGA will beat Bama handily, just like you do. I just happen to believe the Bama we saw Saturday is closer to the real one than you do.

I genuinely cannot name a single player on New Mexico State. Do they even have any 3* kids on that team? Not only did they go into Auburn and beat them, they thoroughly dominated them. I mean, Bama was letting Payton Thorne make big plays against them, and that dude wasn't even good enough to keep his starting job at Michigan State. Spare me the "voodoo" BS, They've lost 10 games at home over the last 3 years.

It wasn't a surprise to see the game turn out to be close. Auburn pulls shit every time they play Bama at home.

Since Saban took over at Bama -- Auburn is 1-7 in road games against Alabama and 4-5 in home games against Alabama.

In 9 games played at Auburn with Saban as coach -- Alabama has outscored Auburn by 20 points total and EVERY YEAR -- Alabama is one of the best teams in the country and Auburn isn't.

2021 -- Bama #3 Auburn unranked 24-22 4 OT's
2019 -- Bama #5 Auburn #16 Auburn wins 48-45
2017 -- Bama #1 Auburn #7 Auburn wins 26-14

You get the picture. Did people think Auburn stood a chance in the game? Absolutely not. Are they surprised it happened? Not really. That is the one game you can throw the records out the window.

Washington has a second year coach who inherited a program that could have easily turned full dumpster fire, but is instead 23-2. And is now the first pac 12 team to ever finish the regular season undefeated.

Not even remotely. It was a must-win for Bama to keep their playoff hope alive. If anything, it's the anti-trap game. If they were 9-2 going into the game, maybe, but that was an exceptionally important game for them.
