Poll Better Job: Wisconsin or Nebraska?

On paper over the past few years both Nebraska and Wisconsin has brought in the same amount of talent. The thing is Nebraska is recruiting at their floor and keeping up without having good teams to show off to recruits. I have respect for what Chryst accomplished at Wisconsin with the talent he has had, right now there's bigger shoes to fill at Wisc. than Nebraska and higher expectations which is why I would lean Nebraska if I was looking for a HC job

Nebraska fans have shown recruiting has changed at all in the past 20+ years, so they aren't at their floor for recruiting. That is just how they will always recruit. That is what happens when you have zero talent in state or in surrounding states.

There are only 3 elite coaches right now. Those are Saban, Dabo, and Urbs.

I agree neither of those will be going to Nebraska.

If Oklahoma were 5-0 right now, you'd have Venables on your list. If tejas were 5-0 you'd have Sark on your list.

Anyone other than the 3 elite I mentioned are a gamble.

I’d put Kirby and Ryan Day on that list. I get what you’re saying but I just think your scope is too narrow.

Coaches that I wouldn’t consider a gamble in addition:

Lane Kiffin - he‘s worked his issues out
Chip Kelly - In college he has made the schools he was at better
Brian Kelly - I don’t like him but his record speaks
Mark Stoops - I’ve been amazed at what he has done at KY

Guys I’ve been impressed with:

Matt Campbell
Luke Fickle
Sam Pittman - I was dead wrong on that guy
Dave Aranda - Up until this year at least
Dave Clawson

So Coaches from 2004 are relevant now how? Pederson fired a well respected 9 win coach then EXACTLY like Wisconsin did yesterday. Nebraska certainly didn’t just do that so what you meant to say was…..

And Wisconsin fired their coach after losing 3 of 5 and starting 0-2 in a very weak B1G West -- Nebraska fired their coach right after winning 9 games before they played their bowl game. You were actually ranked when you fired him. Not exactly the same.
