Which four?
Easier to say who is potentially out:

Kansas State - Nobody wants
WV - Geographically a horrible fit
Baylor - Religious affiliation
TCU - Religious affiliation

That leaves:
Kansas
Texas Tech
Oklahoma State
Iowa State

They may decide they want a bigger Texas presence so I would bet on Baylor taking Iowa State's spot at that point.

Man the merger has zero votes.

That has got to hurt.

9 of the 12 Pac schools already have games lined up with some of the 8 in future schedules.

Oregon has TT, OKst and Baylor
Oregon State has TT
Arizona has Kansas State
Arizona state has Oklahoma State
WSU has Kansas and Kansas State
Stanford has Kanas state and TCU
Cal has TCU
Utah has Baylor
Colorado has TCU, Kansas State and Oklahoma State

mind you some of this goes out to 2030s

Another thing to consider. The PAC has hinted they may move back to 8 conference games and 4 OOC games. A scheduling alliance with the Big 12 would make last second scheduling easier.

With no Oklahoma or Texas, who’s potato recipe between the remaining Big12 and PAC12 schools are you actually interested in finding out about?
Well it's the west coast. Beggars can't be choosers

Here's what is nuts about all this realignment stuff. Let's say the rest of the Big 12 teams end up with nothing...or the G5 level American Conference. Is there really any difference in Oregon State/Cal types versus Texas Tech/Iowa State types...other than "charter membership"? Hell no there isn't. And those names could be replaced with a whole bunch of other "middling" or "bottom feeder" teams in other conferences.

Well... I'd think traveling to OregonSt & Cal would be a lot nicer than going to TT & IowaSt. :dhd:

But, we're gonna be stuck with some clusterfuck decisions most likely, whether we like it or not. Soooo....

:drink:

I don't see what good this is for the PAC at all. Merging doesn't help them really and scheduling.... again, doesn't really help them when they are the bottom of the barrel teams.

PAC needs to swallow their pride and call the B1G and see how to work this out. The B1G needs to try to poach some ACC teams too.

very little.
Cal last won the conference in 2006 shared with USC
Oregon State in 2000 in a 3 way with Oregon and Washington

Texas Tech, Iowa State, Kansas and WVU have never won the Big 12
TCU and Baylor shared in 14
OK state in 11
Kansas State in 12

but also to be fair its been since 09 for Texas...

Yeah, some sort of scheduling arrangement with the B1G needs to happen.

This is what I don’t understand about a scheduling alliance. By the time Texas and Oklahoma leave the Big 12 all of the Pac 12’s OOC will be locked in. Sure, they can replace the FCS games but playing 12 P5 games kind of goes against the argument Pac 12 AD’s have been complaining about the SEC for a decade.

as someone else mentioned there was talk of going to 8 conference games and that would open a ooc spot

Also, to be fair, Iowa State had the best record in the Regular Season last year (8-1) like TCU and Baylor in 14, Oklahoma State in 11 and K-State in 12. So, while ISU has not technically won the Big Xii (since they lost the CCG to OU), they have achieved the same thing as those other four schools that didn't have to play in a CCG in their given years.
