Big 12 thread

I talked about it in my rant but as a reminder we seriously upgraded a lot of our athletic facilities in the last couple of decades.

Upgraded basketball arena when I was in college. Upgraded football field shortly after I left (and we needed it). New soccer complex a few years ago. Brand new baseball stadium that opened this year. Coming soon brand new wrestling complex. It's going to be a training facility I think because they wrestle on the basketball court and I doubt we see a wrestling complex that seats 16K. Also for football, we built an indoor practice facility.

Down to 4...
I think Oklahoma State has become the 3rd best sports school in the conference. I would actually like to see the Cowboys in the SEC but that will never happen. What I'm tired of hearing about is how OSU won't play OU any more because you've been jilted. Welllllll, OK.

Maybe, maybe not. Personally outside of football I'm saying any time anywhere.

For football I'm fine with September games. We get our shit kicked in because the games are played late in the season and recruiting and depth is the difference. Now that the game isn't mandated late in the year by the conference, if we play it should be a September OOC game. Both teams are healthy and it's a draw so I'm cool with that.

Personally I'm torn. On one hand I'm hoping Fox throws money at the Pac to expand into the CST (maybe 10 years from now I'm the one bitching about 11AM starts 🙃). On the other I'm intrigued by the future makeup of the conference. If this the future conference makeup is in place this season, we survive this week and the Cincy Oklahoma State CCG is arguably the biggest game of that weekend. Plus from a recruiting perspective all the sudden we have a shot at under the radar kids in Florida and Ohio. Initially everyone in my fanbase was worried about us becoming a G5 program and mid 30's type classes turning into mid 50's type classes. In that regard nothing has changed. Yeah we could occasionally beat out OU and Texas for a 4* guy but the depth of our classes are based on beating out schools like TCU, rape, and Arkansas. That doesn't change. Arky has a solid coach but y'all moving on over turns into an instant loss for them so that probably benefits us. And for the not so elite 8, we are all on the same footing so nothing really changes, and on the bright side we might start stealing kids out of Florida and Ohio who don't get a Ohio State or Clemson offer and want to get out of the area.

To be fair, I'm not a fan of this. There is a big risk to our status as a P5 program and that makes me nervous. But despite the lower payout I can see how this will work out.

Which ones were doing that? TCU and Baylor greatly updated their stadiums big time so it must be some of the other six.
TCU is the biggest joke.. they got a new stadium that seats a low number of fans, but can't come close to filling it up if not playing UT or ou.

I think the schools that will carry the future Big12 will be osu, bu (they seem to nail it's hires smh). Think those two are really set up to emerge as the schools of this conference.

From the insiders of my Texas boards and some from the $9.95er sphere are saying 2023 season will be the first year. Not because the GOR from the Big12, but because of TV. And it's not FOX or ESPN..it's CBS lol

They don't want to pay more than they already are with the additions of UT and ou.. crazy

Cincinnati will elevate the Big 12 where Texas and OU could not.

Texas and OU are now just paid bitches of the SEC OGs.

Watching this Oklahoma clown condemn others while he cries how Oklahoma has to honor a contract THEY SIGNED is pure hypocrisy and stupidity. Easy shouting condemnation from high ivory tower he puts himself on.

You referring to me? The guy who said just write the check and be done with it? The guy who doesn't care about trying to weasel out of paying whatever it takes to get out of the conference? I'm a hypocrite and stupid? Dude.

Very good king crybaby. Oklahoma signed a contract, quite crying that you have to honor it or pay up. You throwing shade at others for doing exactly what you are doing is hypocritical to the nth degree.

Are you stupid or what? I never said OU shouldn't abide by the contract. Never. I said pay the money and get away as fast as possible. What part of that don't you understand? And go easy on calling someone a hypocrite.

No, I’m a realist that see’s you whining about “the hateful 8” and how they can go “ fuck themselves” all the while you cry how the b12 should just let you leave as painless as possible. The B12 isn’t going to fucking do that. No sane person would let Someone just slide out (like you’re suggesting). The tv agreements aren’t easily negotiated and the B12 deserves to hold or be paid for the value of those rights until 2025. Stop blaming the B12 and it’s presidents for making a decision your spoiled Oklahoma ass doesn’t like. Understand?

I would happily dump Vanderbilt and add Oklahoma State...

then again...

Who would Tennessee beat if that happened? South Carolina and Missouri?

Are you implying that you're not going to beat Bama this weekend?

OK, you're obviously retarded and have a poor command of the English language so I'll try to accommodate your handicap. I don't give a hoot about the Hateful Eight (with the exception of Oklahoma State) but I don't have any history of saying we should stiff the rest of the conference. So that means Oklahoma and Texas can write whatever check we have to write and then it's AMF. But that isn't good enough for you since your panties are all in a twist. You want what else other than money? Retribution? Penance? Contrition? Well, you ain't gonna get it from the Sooners or the Horns. You'll get your blood money and like it. I'm delighted it's only going to take a check to be done with Never-Was programs like West Virginia. I'd hate to think money wouldn't do the trick but it will and that is a nifty advantage for Oklahoma and Texas. We can afford it. You, on the other hand, are going to be down to playing in a much diminished conference for a heck of a lot less dinero. Poor you. You will take your check and like it. LMAO

My panties are in a twist? I’m merely commenting how you are crying about others crying while you do the exact same thing. Make fun of my team/program all you want. It’s not going to save you any money in the end nor is it going to get you to the SEC in 2022. And that’s what your crying is all about. Wahhhh we have to honor our contract and can’t leave in 2022 wahhhh. So when you get to your new conference enjoy all the perks and the losses that assuredly come with it, we don’t need you to worry about lowly West Virginia. WVU will be fine and once the Powers break away your move to the SEC will be nothing more then you being a higher paid hoe. Enjoy it.

This is all time.
would you consider a program who has 50 titles pre 1975 in 3 sports and nothing since but still more than any other school who may have 40 since 1990 in 6 sports the better overall program
