Big 12 thread

Brett Yormarck (the Professor Harold Hill of Music Man fame who is the new conference commissioner) has said it numerous times as have several of the AD's like Chad Weiberg at Okie Jr. Of course it's all a "whistling through the graveyard" type of attitude but it's not true.

TrOUble with a capital "T"!

But you have to remember, there are schools signing stupid contracts with coaches and collectives signing stupid NIL contracts with players. They don't seem to mind signing dumb shit.
I don't think you know how collectives work, sir

I'm going to miss you, son :(

Someone explain to me why JT Daniels wants to play at Rice instead of WV. That doesn't make sense to me.

Prolly the same reason Nix went to Oregon. Rice is in what, CUSA? He can put up large numbers against that conference, the same as Nix put up large numbers numbers against PAC teams. We saw what Nix couldn't do against SEC teams. JTD probably wants to pad his numbers.
Or, he thought the coaching situation at WVU sucked and wanted out.

i know its crazy what Nix could do when he actually has a line to protect him and WR that can catch. a coaching staff that didnt get fired. and then another that didnt get fired.

I’m not sure if he was hurt as the season went or he just underperformed. But he likely wasn’t beating out Green who seemed to have a better arm and is ten times more mobile. Plus JT didn’t even see the field the last game of the year, Green started and then got knocked out and the freshman Nico Marichol came in and was serviceable.

Long story short Daniels probably wasn’t seeing the field again in Motown.

So he lost his job. I didn't know that in the one game I watched he was the QB and did a decent job.

I thought JTD SOUNDED GREAT on the West Virginia @ Iowa State radio broadcast.
Of course, I am biased.

Not sure if he was hurt or something else was wrong but he seemed to lose arm strength and accuracy as the season went. It sucks because those first few games were really good. Also didn’t help we had an oline with tons of experience but was still absolutely shit.

A little over 8 months until next season starts and still not a peep about the conference schedule. SHEESH

The Big 12 Commissioner released the following information concerning OU's football schedule in 2023 and 2024. Oklahoma will play Texas each year in the Cotton Bowl (Texas State Fair) and play Oklahoma State at Stillwater in 2023 and at Norman in 2024. OU will also play the other former Big 8 schools (Iowa State, Kansas, Kansas State) each year. They will play ISU home and away, and Kansas and Kansas State away and home. OU will also play two of the other current Big 12 schools (Baylor, Texas Christian, Texas Tech, West Virginia) and two of the new incoming Big 12 schools (BYU, Cincinnati, Houston, UCF) in 2023, and the other two current Big 12 schools (Baylor, Texas Christian, Texas Tech, West Virginia) and the other two new incoming Big 12 schools (BYU, Cincinnati, Houston, UCF) in 2024.

Thus the 2023 non-conference schedule will include Arkansas State on Sept. 2, SMU on Sept 9, and at Tulsa on Sept 16. The possible Big 12 schedule could include playing at BYU on Sept 23, Texas Tech on Sept 30, TCU on Oct. 7, Texas in the Cotton Bowl in Dallas on Sept. 14, a bye on Sept. 21, playing at Kansas on Oct. 28, Cincinnati on Nov. 4, playing at Kansas State on Nov. 11, Iowa State on Nov. 18, and playing at Oklahoma State on Nov. 25.

This was posted on a Houston board. People are stating rumors that Tejas is supposed to play the 4 newbies coming in home and away these next two seasons and they threw a fit. Not sure I believe it but I wouldn’t be surprised either. This is ”supposedly” byu’s 2023 schedule.

lol UH is complaining because UT is trying to move the UH game to Reliant stadium.. y'all need to google why they want to move it..nothing to do with the fan experience or anything.. it's because despite tix demand UH wanted at their stadium and built temporary stands.. but those shits were from WISH.. and UT fans were demanding refunds

Texas as far as the school isn't going to complain about the schedule, they never have made a deal about any game outside from this incident with UH. We have already played at BYU before.. what's the difference playing in Orlando than playing in Aimes? Those aren't games UT fans are going to travel heavily too.. well maybe they do in FL since there is a large alumni base there.. Who's the other school? Cincinnatti? meh?

So as I've stated all along..... TX/OU will not be going to the SEC until the GOR expires in July 2025.

What say you @Thiefery ?
