Big 12 thread

I'm already happy to see Sark knows what to look for in WRs.. Herman was all about tall guys who never panned out.

Here's to him being able to reel in Evan Stewart

Devin Duvernay has turned into a pretty solid pro. He and Hollywood seem to due pretty well together.

Marquise Brown and Devin Duvernay. Kyler Murray and Colt McCoy. Can you imagine the conversations those guys had after this year's OU/Texas game? Now that is something I'd like to listen in on. :laugh3:

Duvernay, Collin Johnson, Lil Jordan Humphrey... all Chuck's class

Whittington is the one I've been disappointed in. I thought he had the whole package. I was wrong.
he's not bad, when healthy..unfortunately, he's always banged up

That was actually Briles. Baylor screwed up submitting his LOI or something like that and Charlie Strong brought him in

You should heard Brian Jones on it. I belive his quote was “you don’t have to be a great player, but you can’t be a bitch. They are bitches”

I hung out with him back in 2003. One of my closest friends was a DJ at the Beat 104.3 back then. They had a hot Miss Austin contest and Brian Jones was a guest judge. I got to tag along and we hit up bar after bar along 6th street. BJ was drinking rubbing alcohol, but was cool as hell. I remember him not wanting to talk about UT football, he was pissed at Mack.. said if he didn't have heart/blood pressure issues he would demand to get on the staff and stick his foot up some of the current players asses there.

funny how we always have a goddamn murderer's row in November EVERY. FUCKING. YEAR.

So half our WR's, Half our DL, and 3/4ths of our starting secondary?

No excuse. It's understandable that you guys came out flat against an opponent you should have destroyed and 35 points in the 2nd half means if your offense was awake in the first half it wouldn't have been a game, but this was a blown call in your favor by the refs late from getting really interesting.

This week I'm guessing we beat them by 3 or 4 scores in a game decided at half but even with the kids you held out your team should have had a more decisive win. I'm cool with great teams pulling out gut punch wins but against arguably the worst P5 team in the nation it shouldn't have come to that

Show me where I said it was an excuse? And we are nowhere near a great team. Not even a good team. Lots of teams would be 8-0 playing this schedule.

Just wait.
I know Alabama and Georgia are good but there really not another 3 game stretch in the SEC like finishing with Baylor, Iowa State, and Oklahoma State. All 1 loss conference teams ranked in the top 25.

I see that Baylor is a 2.5 pt favorite over Texass this weekend.

If we're going to sweat playing Ra*e, Iowa State and Jr. in a row we're gonna have a helluva time in the SEC. Frankly, I don't think we're anywhere near close to being a top dog in the SEC with (AGAIN!!) an undependable defense and injuries keep exposing how we have virtually no depth at key positions. I know the OU coaching staff has to be thinking the same thing. The question is whether or not we can do anything about it. But first, let's see if they can win the Big XII again. Failing to do that will cause all kinds of crap to start happening. This season is uniquely important in several ways.

This is a joke right?

In 2017 Auburn played Georgia, Alabama and then Georgia again in the SEC Championship game. Both Georgia and Alabama were in the playoff that year.

You guys have zero idea what you are getting into. By the time we got to the Championship game we had one back left that was about 70% and our offensive line was held together with duck tape.

When we played you guys in the Sugar Bowl we were in about the same shape and lost our only real QB on the first drive. Depth is important in college football but you have to take it to a whole other level to play an SEC schedule. That was Malzahn's greatest failing in he couldn't build depth. With the transfer portal, it's just getting harder for just about everyone but Bama. Even Georgia is struggling with it at the WR position but fortunately for them the defense makes up for it.
