Big East Basketball

Not a bad loss by UConn, I don't think this a very good Xavier team, but it was on the road and close.

Offense is pathetic...

Offense is pathetic...

Hell of a battle.

Glad we finally won a close one. Even those we scored like 2 pts in the final 5 minutes. That’s how you buckle down.

Nova is gonna be really good in a month or so

The worst defense I have ever seen a team play.

Not sure why we even bothered showing up. SJU scores literally every single time down if its not a shitty pass TO.

Ahhh its cause we are close to elite offensively thats why we showed up. Second straight game where the D was better in second half.

This offense is really good. And SJU plays like no defense if it isnt pressure TOs

Providence getting every whistle at home again.

Total shocker.

Providence is the poster child for the new transfer rule.

Unreal.

Who do all think would be in line to get this job? Is it still attractive enough to pull a current P5 HC? Or is it someone from the G5/Mid Major ranks? There really isn't someone in the John Thompson pipeline to turn to at this point.

I wonder if someone like Andy Enfield would consider going back to the East Coast?

Other candidates:
Ed Cooley(Providence) - probably unrealistic
Steve Pikiell(Rutgers)
Micah Shrewsbury(PSU)
Pat Kelsey(CofC)
Ryan Odom(Utah State)

I'm pretty fascinated with what will become of the new hire.

I think they will have some good options forsure. Like you said still a good job. Cooley will clearly be a target but I kinda doubt he even entertains it. I think Shrewsbury becomes a front runner but that is dependent on PSU making the tourney this year. Think hes gotta at least do that.

Whats wild is their roster. Take a deep dive at their roster and its no wonder why the hang around for games like Uconn and Nova last night for a half. Then tire out along with the talent gap. They basically only give 6 guys minutes. One of those guys is out long term right now another player is concussed. Then they lost Murray and some other dude in the game yesterday.

There is a chance when we play them Saturday their lineup is

Primo Spears
Denver Anglin
Jordan Riley
Akok Akok
Qudus Wahab

Riley and Anglin they average 10.7 and 5.9 minutes respectively. And 3 of their subs are fucking centers haha

Once again its better to just have Gtown games Covid cancelled(especially at home). Hope I didnt jinx us into the worst loss of the century. But we need to win by 25 to even help the fucking NET.

We are 17 in KP right now. Our highest in season ranking at KP since the DJO/Crowder beast squad in 2012.

Unforuntately only X has a worse D right now of teams in the top 30. If Shaka can get that going a bit(size will always limit it some) we can keep this rolling. The offense is a legit top 10 O right now.

First half was a typical Gtown game.
Played too many bench lineups.

Buried them i half two. Ewing has to go. We were up 28 before pulling guys with 4 minutes left while trailing at half.

Kolek had a historic 15-0 in 27 minutes. Legendary.

That big freshman fucker had his fucking way.

But guards are the great equalizer. And ours are better.

At Uconn will be a different animal. But huge W

I guess Jay Wright was a pretty good coach...

Well Wright obviously was great.

But waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay too early to judge Neptune. Wright was basically a perpetual loser for a decade himself.

No Moore is killer. And Nova just doesnt have a lead dog at guard. You have to have at least one of those. Its basically a bunch of wings. This archadiacno makes the other one look like MJ.

I wont judge Neptune yet.

Oh yea, my fandom goes back well before Wright even started. Jason Lawson and Kerry Kittles.

But I didn't think they'd make him look this good.

They have some talent. Defense is an atrocity. Armstrong has a lot of talent, next year is his year. The problem is Daniels, Slater were more role players than stars too

I noticed that the only recruit you have coming in is unranked, do you think Neptune will hit the portal more than Wright did. Outside of Daniels, Wright was a recruit and develop coach.

Yeah Daniels isnt really a guy you want being your lead dog. Hes a lot better being the dude sitting in the corner/wing waiting for the kick out to either shoot a open 3 or fake and drive the lane. Need more guard talent to control the ball so he can do that.

They'll pick up recruits in the later periods. There's still solid pipelines, DC, NJ, Philly.

Some of the recruits over the last few years have whiffed, but next year's team should be better. Think the strategy is the same for now.

its time to start writing to your local congress people and ask them does Connecticut really deserve statehood

Xavier is a few unfavorable possessions from being 17-1.

I really don't think this team is that good, but they are winning.
