Big East Basketball

neutral court with Indiana next year

Shaka addicted to scheduling big10 teams

I hope the committee takes Nova shooting 12 for fucking 15 from 3 into consideration.

Holy shit.

Have to try and save the season with more Lowery.

Joplin is a joke. Lowery has been playing great for a month now. Start him.

Stevie is also clearly hurt bad. But I would start Lowery for Joplin simply cause he pisses me off.

The St Johns win didn't move the needle and this one won't either.

Too many losses and too many inflated ratings from the SEC.

Hopefully some Big East teams can go take down the Mississippi/Miss State juggernaut

Yay we shot well. Don't care that it was Providence needed something like that.

Actually I do care that it was Providence, cause fuck them. Pounding them by 30 twice is fun

Pounded Gtown. Really wish Shaka would stop his prevent defense NFL type tactics. Which allowed the game to look more interesting that it was. But overall good to dominate another beaten down team.

Great week for Gold. Its likely just one of his good stretches and nothing more. But boy as Shaka always says, if Ben can just realize how good he is and play with some of that cockiness. It'll be huge this month. If he had the confidence/mindset of Joplin he would be 2nd team BE at minimum.

Assuming they win saturday X has to be a tourney lock

1 Q1 win be damned. 13-7 in league. Lots of Q2 wins. No bad losses

Playing great basketball the first 24 minutes in Uconn tonight. But the Hurley officiating coming in hot. Jesus christ

I think they have to beat Providence and Marquette and then it's a maybe.

If they also beat St Johns in MSG, they should be in

It will be fascinating how they compare them to the SEC bubble teams. OU will almost have played as many Q1 games as Xavier has combined in Q1/Q2. They have 7 wins against the projected field (including Arkansas as of now) to X's 3.

I do think, as of now, they are ahead of Texas from the SEC. I would take them over UNC at this point. But if they wanna feel comfortable they need to win the #4/#5 matchup in the BE Tournament. IMO if they lose that game they don't really have a great case.

Well, good news is we are definitely back to playing way better(still cant shoot for shit) at the right time.

bad news, still lose every meaningful game down the stretch because of inept play. Today was the literal definition of handing it to SJU.

Cant even be mad about the blatant missed foul call when Chase rolled his ankle with like 1.5 left. cause we absolutely miss both free throws anyways.

You really gotta respect what Pitino has done with St John's. I don't think he can sutain.this into next years but they've had a hell of a year.

7-11 seeds are basically fodder this year. Then it gets interesting.

I think any of 4 teams, could win ... but St Johns should really walk away with this.

Having true home court advantage for this kind of 3 day tournament is just insane. They've never been able to truly take advantage.

Since it’s official for a 4th time.

I’ll say it again, the most laughable thing I’ve ever seen in sports no hyperbole is Ryan Kalkbrenner being a 4 time DPOY. It’s also an insult to Ewing.

A 7’2 23 year old just standing in one spot and not guarding anyone is not a defender. It just a tall obstruction.

And when he does “guard a man” it’s the worst outside offensive option. So he can continue to stand in 1 spot.

I lol'd at the tall obstruction description

Well ... it WAS a coaches vote.

But I agree Mitchell should have won.

Especially with the way today's game is, a guy who can really guard on the perimeter is every bit as useful as an interior D guy.

Combination of laziness and Marquette having so many players who contribute to the defensive effort

Honestly could give it to Richmond too. He's great

Kalk is just a lazy award. You should be required to actually defend a player

Damn Georgetown.
