Damn, Kalkbrenners really improved.

He could barely hit a point blank shot last year.
 
Wasnt the prettiest way to get there but 11-8 in the BE and a bye for the BET?? Woulda taken that in a heartbeat in November. Teams have solved the pick and roll and not sure we can get back to our peak. But overall, exceeded expectations.

Got the BET path we wanted. The already mentioned bye and then avoid Uconn, SHU and Nova. Couldnt of asked for better. Might we lose to Creighton a 3rd time? Sure, but Ill take my chances with them and Providence.

Had to be done. They have sucked ass under him. Will be interesting to see if Nored gets the job.

They were OK the last year w Kamar Baldwin, but yea, they've been underperforming.

Thought he'd get a little more time because he at least graduates the guys.

he did/does. many schools have passed on him because of those issues. Matta has been trying to get back into coaching for a few years now.
 
Big East coaching roster is getting prolific... in a circus kind of way, but ... see what happens
 


Some pretty nice matchups in here. Really the only bad one is probably GMT own at TTU. Game is gonna get ugly.
 
I love that we got Baylor. Seems that adding Shaka has allowed us to get better match ups in these non con battles. BIG10 gave us Illinois last year.

Downside, probably gonna get thrashed lol

Lewis has been looking gone for a while, but its unofficially offical now. Pulled out of the combine today which means a NBA team gave him a draft guarantee. Good for him.

But could be ugly next year.

Jesus, now MU is getting dragged into the St. Thomas delusion.

Ever since they joined D1 there has been crazy talk of them immediately getting top 100 recruits, scheduling the gophers right off the bat etc..

Marquette is not playing a road game with St Thomas at Target Center. That is not a draw. We play in a NBA arena already
 
BE media day today. Thats when you know season is upon us.

Could be one of those wild ones with a lot of teams bunched up. I have a feeling a few are getting overrated and underrated which might cause chaos. Nova even without Wright will be right there though.

It's as wide open as I can ever remember. I think Nova takes a little bit of a step back, but I think that's natural given what they lost and losing Wright. They will still be good, just not what they've been during this stretch of the last 6/7 years. I think Creighton is the best team, but it's going to be a fun conference all season.

Yeah I think Creighton on paper is the best team. And could potentially be really good. But they were still just a major bubble team a year ago and lost a couple key guys even if they do return a lot of promising young players plus Kalkbrenner.

Also, I read a article a bit back where their D may take a step back mainly due to Hawkins(who was excellent) being swapped with Scheierman(turnstyle) and will be interesting to see if Scherierman helps their shooting. In small sample sizes I believe he was really poor against good teams.
